Lower back pain

I'm bang on 17 weeks and this morning while doing the shopping my lower back suddenly started feeling rather stiff and painful.

Six hours later I'm hobbling around. I'm so stiff and although the pain isn't horrendous it's really not great. Could I be sciatica? I've never experienced anything like this before.

When I had sciatica it was down a leg. But lower back pain is common in pregnancy. I asked my midwife for an antenatal physio referral and they did some (online) classes which helped.

Oh you'd know if it was sciatica, it's horrible and stops you in your steps. Feels like a red hot shooting/whipping pain from your bum down your leg.

I am super hoping my sciatica doesn't play up too much in pregnancy.

Could be pgp. Check out the pelvic partnership website to see if it matches with your symptoms and how to live with it. My sacro iliac joints often freeze up.
