Good evening,
So.... I been asked to record my blood sugar levels for 5 days to be under 7.8 +1 after meals and below 5.3 upon waking.
I been asked as I seem to be slightly having a bigger bubba at 34 +1 est 5lb 15oz and I think the 34 week mark they expect you at like 4.7lb I believe. They asked for this because they think I have GD - but blood tests have all been within range except being anemic still. Have an infusion in next week or 2.
Anyways, I been doing blood sugar, i have had a couple high ones(7.9/8/7.8), but I think it's just getting used to it, and washing my hands with a honey and strawberry handwash 🤦♀️🤦♀️ as soon as I rewash hands and rinse really well I retest I'm well within levels. Also a glass of apple juice with the meal, or little before which does not seem to help. I been having apple juice as keeps me regular. Morning bms have been fine and well below 5.3.
I been told that they want me to have an induction if Bubba gets too big at next growth scan - I'm very reluctant for this.... I'm aware of risks of declining.
My question after waffling:
- did anyone else get asked to test blood sugar? Even though bloods were clear?
- were you asked to have an induction if Bubba too big? Did you agree? As I didn't think that was the guideline of induction procedures with NICE.
- is anyone else a bit sad about the rules with covid restrictions and how a partner can not be with you from the minute you enter the hospital till you go home? I'm really struggling with this to the point Im thinking of self discharging when they say it's time for him to go - again I know the risks and if me and Bubba are poorly I won't do it. Even with an induction your partner not allowed there... 😔
I think that's all my questions 🙈
