14 weeks & absolutely starving! Does it get better?

I cannot stop eating i feel hungry ALL the time, and if I don't eat I start feeling really really sick. I could literally eat a full bowl of pasta and still feel hungry but also need to eat like 1 hour after or I will feel sick again. This cant be normal?? I don't want to gain too much weight either. Can anyone provide reassurance that this gets better?

I’m 12 weeks (nearly) and I’m exactly the same 😂😂😂😭 you are not alone !

RachShad · 16/01/2021 16:31

Omg its ridiculous! I ate at about half 12 with my partner and it got to about 2 and I said I'm absolutely starving I felt so so sick, he was like you have just had a huge meal you can't possibly feel that bad, I honestly would have had the shakes and everything if I didn't have more food 🤣 I sound like a right greedy bugger im absolutely starving again now though but its not asif I'm not eating non nutritious foods either

I was the same! It does ease, don't beat yourself up. I'm 30 weeks now and can barely stomach 3 meals a day. A few months ago I was getting drive through cheeseburgers in between meals 😂😂

OhThatNamingThing · 16/01/2021 17:01

It’s normal, will probably last a few weeks, but I’m at 22 weeks now and since about 17 weeks I have been struggling to eat a big meal, I have to eat a meal in 2 sittings or have a smaller meal as I get so full so quickly now

RachShad · 16/01/2021 17:06

Ah I'm glad to hear that it does ease! I am exactly the same now I could eat and eat and eat and still have belly aches cos I'm starving 😂🙈 seems that things can change all the time though so will just see how it goes over the next few weeks!
Thanks!

This has been me since 6 weeks! I’m 11+6 now and I feel like it’s not as bad as it was. I got away with very minimal nausea, but my hunger levels have been so extreme. Mine is worst at night and I often have to go downstairs in the middle of the night to eat a banana just to be able to get to sleep 😂

feistymumma · 16/01/2021 17:23

I'm the same OP, it's really frustrating but what's worse is that I am unable to eat big portions which means after half an hour I need to eat again and I don't have a craving for anything.

RachShad · 16/01/2021 17:29

@MintGreenLife aww I had such bad nausea until about 3 weeks ago but now I have the extreme hunger and if I don't eat I feel nauseous I can't catch a break but I am defo worse on a night too haha I can't sleep if I don't go and get something ad well🤣🤣
@feistymumma aw bless you, I eat big portions and it still doesn't matter, I dont crave anything in particular either yet, just all food anytime any place hahaha well apart from chicken ive gone off that

I experienced the same! It stopped at 18 weeks for me....but I found it almost worse than the actual morning sickness. I was waking every 2-3 hours having to eat and would be ravenous within 20 minutes of a large dinner. Now at 26 weeks it hasn’t returned thank god!

Julybaby2021 · 16/01/2021 17:30

Im 15+1 and Im the same. I usually dont have any cravings which makes it harder to eat something but then i start feeling like i'm going to be sick so end up having to get something quickly🙈

RachShad · 16/01/2021 17:33

Aw I hope mine goes soon then!! Yeah it can be worse than the sickness, its just very intense all day everyday not being able to go half an hour without feeling starving. Im glad it hasn't returned and your finding things abit better!!

RachShad · 16/01/2021 17:34

@Julybaby2021 yes I'm the exact same!! I have to eat something so fast or I feel as though I'm guna faint have the shakes and sooo nauseous!

Yes!! Mine eased about 14 weeks. Was beyond a joke and really intense. The only professional advice I received was to have some crackers by the bed! They clearly didn't understand the urgency and that I was waking up absolutely ravenous. I went to a hotel around week 12 and didn't have any food available. I was awake all night and the first customer in the local spar at 7am!

RachShad · 16/01/2021 21:02

@SBR1 ah im 14 weeks now I hope it goes soon!! I'm sick to death of people telling me to eat crackers, when I was nauseous all the time thats all they would say as well! Am sorry but the crackers don't bloody help hahaha I need a 5 course meal not some crackers!! I do get snacking more might help but I have been trying doesn't seem to help much. How annoying haha

I remember those days. It will pass op.

RachShad · 20/01/2021 14:38

This is just not getting any better guys, im 15 weeks and I just constantly feel sick if I don't eat, its getting ridiculous. The nausea gets me really down i thought it would have gotten better by now

Have you spoken to your midwife or GP? Just wondering if it might be an indigestion type thing? I had a few weeks of this but got reflux also. I think mine was the stomach acid making me feel yuck. Just a thought

Misspacorabanne · 20/01/2021 15:16

It's normal! Happened to me both times, just no filling me up!!Grin It did ease further into second trimester, but did return in the third for me!! Smile

RachShad · 20/01/2021 16:08

I havent no, I might ring them and ask about it but I think they'll just tell me its normal although none of my friends seemed to have this. Like if I don't eat for 1 hour I get the shakes feel so sick its asif im going to pass out which is making it ridiculous at work and things especially with wearing the masks where not supposed to be eat when where not on a break. I hope it eases soon thanks x

SAME

Been in maternity jeans since 10 weeks

I'm never sick, just constantly nauseous. Eating is like a drug. Quick fix, then I need to eat again.

Then I get tummy ache from being too full at bed time 🤣

RachShad · 20/01/2021 22:28

@PotatoesPastaAndBread yeah I feel really really nauseous if I don't eat!! I'm the same im having a meal then need something again virtually straight after! But how can this be physically possible when going about day to day life i can't just eat all the time!! Its doing my head in but im also very bloated now on a night I do feel really full 😂

OP posts:
Dia12 · 20/01/2021 23:55

Same here! I really suffer in the evening. I've just vomited back up the snacks I had after dinner. Gross. I do feel a better though.
It's so bizarre, how I can be so hungry and yet so full? Argh!

RachShad · 21/01/2021 10:44

@Dia12 yeah its so so bizarre!! Hope it eases soon I thought things would have died down by 15 weeks x
