Dp and I had sex this morning and just been to lo and noticed i have pink discharge. Am sure is probably just because we have had sex (first time since preg ) and have called the MW at hosp just to check. Said to her is was a little blood stained (actually didnt describe very well as more pink than red). Anyway, she said not to worry too much unless it is clots, cramps, baby stops moving etc. Studpidly i searched mumsnet for similar threads and it kept coming up with it being a 'show'. Has anyone else experienced this after sex and it not been a show?

The cervix can be a little sensitive during pregnancy and can bleed slightly if bumped or rubbed.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about!

Don't worry. I have this at about the same stage. Rushed to the hospital in a panic and it was nothing at all. They checked it out and said as long as its only a tinge then nothing to worry about. Needs checking if its a trickle or flow of blood though.

If you are really worried though call the midwives back. They don't mind.

I got told that if I bleed at any point in pregnancy, not to have sex for 4 weeks afterwards so that anything can calm down. That was off the midwife at the antenatal clinic.

I think its fairly common tbh.

I had this with both the girls, but not so far this time despite being 36 weeks!

Keep an eye and call mw's again if worried

this happened to me earlier on in my preg now 28 weeks, scared me half to death and also my dh went to hospital etc, all was fine but been too scared to go near each other since.. just keep an eye on it, it lasted over three days for me.

pink means one or two drops of blood getting into your usual cervical mucus. The key question is whether it's your blood or the baby's blood. It is 99.99% your blood, from the outside of the cervix, and therefore nothing to worry about.

Thanks for reassurance. No more dodgy stuff from there (although red from piles )

Oh bugger. Just been to loo and spoke too soon. More reddy pinky discharge although only small amount. Baby still moving and not cramping.
