Metronidazole and Rigevidon

Hi i was wondering if someone could help. i’ve been on the pill for around 4 months now (21 days on, 7 days off) and started taking my new pack 5 days ago. i had sex two days ago, but today my dentist has prescribed me metronidazole for a gum infection. he told me this would interact with my pill, but the chemist said it wouldn’t and so does the NHS site. i’m not planning on having sex while on it, but will it affect my pill and get me pregnant even though i had sex 2 days ago?

No it won't affect your pill and you can still rely on it. It will make you vomit and feel awful if you drink alcohol whilst on it though so avoid that! Hope you feel better soon.

thank you! my boyfriend has been currently told by his dad he can’t see me because of lockdown restrictions so there’s no sex scheduled for the upcoming weeks lol, just was worried about it affecting my pill since i had sex two days ago. thank you for the reassurance!
