Hi there!
Just joined and first post, just got a few curiosities really! First pregnancy and I’m 10/11 weeks (not 100% as I’m not sure when my last period was) dating scan on 2nd of feb (which seems so so far away!) just a couple of questions, did anyone start showing crazy early with their first? My mum did with me but I’m 3rd and I know it can happen in 2nd pregnancies but feels very early? And it’s not bloating etc as my stomach feels quite hard and not bloat uncomfortable, so I’ve already had to buy some maternity jeans as my leggings even were uncomfy (don’t know if that’s a bad omen?) also did anyone’s symptoms sort of evolve and change around this time? I’ve gone from constant nausea to constant headaches and tiredness and I’m only feeling bland food (very unlike me!) any advice for an anxious pregnant lady is more than welcome! Thanks!

Congratulations! I’m 10 weeks on my first... I wore normal jeans on Wednesday and they were so uncomfortable. I decided to try the maternity jeans yesterday... obviously still a bit big but very comfortable... like you my stomach is really hard and looks about 6 months pregnant to be honest 🙈 so it has to be bloat for me but a bit of baby mixed in. My symptoms come and go and go from severe to none and all. I’ve had regular scans and baby is doing very well so I think it’s just all part and parcel of pregnancy!!

I felt very 'round' at 10/11 weeks but its my 2nd. I remember with my first I was just really bloated and didnt show till later on! I cant really remember last time but this time i felt my worst around the 12 to 15 week mark before symptoms started to fade. Felt fine these last few weeks! Everyones different, i hardly felt sick but had a constant headache!

Hello! Another anxious pregnant lady at about 10.5 weeks.

I haven’t even attempted jeans as I have been so bloated, just stretchy bottoms, though my leggings are too tight! I think you can show early but it’s normally about 12 weeks because that’s when your uterus moves over your hips? I feel one of my apps said to this to me but I’m not totally sure and everyone is different, so I don’t see why it’s not possible.

My symptoms have changed in the last few days, less sick and achey. I’m really hoping it’s normal because I’ve worried myself over it! Think pregnancy in general is quite anxiety inducing! X

Hi all :) hoping I can join in, I'm yet to find a thread that felt right! I'm 11 + 5 and have so much going on already. After spotting on and off last week I was found to have a polyp on my cervix when I went to get checked out by the early pregnancy unit. Baby looked great on the scan though - was kicking and wriggling around and measuring 4 days ahead.

Fast forward to this week and I had the results from a swab they took and was found to have bacterial vaginosis, although no symptoms. I was told it should be treated with antibiotics so I started those which were prescribed by my GP, but spotted on the leaflet it said not to take when pregnant unless absolutely necessary. I spoke to a pharmacist and the early pregnancy unit again and both said they would be fine to take, but that they wouldn't usually treat unless there were symptoms - this was after the early pregnancy unit had written to my GP asking to treat!!

Next week I have an appointment to get my cervix looked at again to see what to do about the polyp, as well as my 12 week scan. I'm feeling really overwhelmed by everything that's happening and keep worrying it's a lot for the baby, although try to remind myself it's most likely they are happy in there and none the wiser as to all of this!!

With the bump thing - I do already have a small bump. This is my first, but I'm 5"1 and a size 8 with small hips, so I think it makes sense for a bump to start showing sooner for me, as I have no space upwards or across, so only way for it to go is out!

Sophcf · 15/01/2021 12:06

Ahh thanks everyone you’ve put me at ease!
Congrats to all of you too!
I haven’t had any kind of scan yet so I think that’s adding to all my anxiety, though I have no reason to think anything is wrong unfortunately the internet (while super helpful) can also make you think everything can and will go wrong (especially with regards to MMC so I’m going a bit crazy if I lose a symptom as I haven’t seen baby yet!)
@MintGreenLife glad that baby is all okay and they are treating you! I’m sure it’s fine to take, especially if they’ve all advised you do, better to clear it before you get any unfortunate symptoms!
With regards to bump I had lost a stone pre baby so I think maybe I’m just noticing more!
Thanks guys and as we are all around the same time would be nice to keep this thread going as we are all in the same boat 😊

I had an early scan and it reassured me for about 10 minutes and then I went back to worrying. My next scan over 3 weeks away and feels like a lifetime!

Agree wholeheartedly about google, especially with MMC, I’m petrified but I need to learn to let go because I can’t control it either way.

Good point about body shape and bump- I’m 5ft 10 and size 8- thought I’d show early cos I’m slim but I guess there’s a lot of space so maybe not? I’d just like the bloat to go!

@MintGreenLife wow you’ve had an eventful few weeks, sounds stressful. I hope your appointment next week goes well. You’re right though, baby will be so cuccooned in there they won’t know 😊

MintGreenLife · 15/01/2021 13:33

@Sophcf I can completely understand how you would feel having not had a scan, but sure everything is looking great in there ☺️ When’s your scan? Mine is next Friday at 12 + 5. I’m counting down the days! Yeah I think I’m on the same page as you re the treatment, just was very confusing and I was almost being told it was up to me what I decided to do, so felt like a huge responsibility!

@Thisisbananas3 I think if you have a long torso there’s more space for things to grow upwards before outwards, but sure you’ll have a lovely little bump soon. I totally need to to remind myself that all is probably well in there, as stressing won’t help the situation! At least it’s only a week now before I get to see baby again x

Sophcf · 15/01/2021 13:45

@MintGreenLife ahh not long atall to wait! Mines 2nd of feb so just under 3 weeks! So ill be 13/14 weeks, mines all been a bit up in the air cause I had my booking appointment 2 weeks ago but before I’d had my booking blood tests (which I had 9 days ago) but I haven’t heard anything off the back of them so guessing no news is good news! I would be fine waiting if it wasn’t blooming January so the longest month of the year anyway! Plus I’m on furlough so days are dragging (hence all the googling and worrying myself silly!) but totally agree with you @Thisisbananas3 no point in worrying as nothing can be done regardless just hate sitting round twiddling my thumbs so everything is getting researched 😬😂

@Sophcf hope it goes quickly for you! I had my booking appointment quite early at 7 weeks from ovulation date, but 9 weeks from LMP - I had irregular cycles since stopping the pill, and as they can’t take your word for it on your ovulation dates they work on LMP to start with, but I had a scan with the NHS to date the pregnancy at 7 weeks so that they could accurately book my 12 week scan. I’d say as you haven’t heard anything about your bloods that means they are all fine. I just asked on the phone when I was calling about something else and they quickly glanced over them and said all good. Oh it’s so hard not to obsess over every tiny little thing! With everything that’s happened over the last few weeks with me I’ve had days where I’ve hardly got any work done as I’ve ended up researching obsessively! By the time I have my scan I’ll have just finished the antibiotics, so thinking I’ll be able to chill out a bit more from then knowing baby is all fine and infection should be sorted x

Sophcf · 15/01/2021 14:14

@MintGreenLife ahh it’s good that they did that! Yeah I’m the same had irregular cycles and don’t even remember the date of my last period so I’m pretty clueless could be 10 weeks could be 12 haha, hence why desperate to get the scan! But I’m sure I’ll occupy myself for the next couple of weeks! Ahh at least your antibiotic course is quite short, hopefully they will clear it all up 😊

@Sophcf ohh I’m surprised you’re not being seen a little earlier for your scan to be on the safe side. Are you having the down syndrome screening? I guess if you’re not then when your scan is done doesn’t matter too much, but if you’re having the screening it should be done before 13+6 x

Sophcf · 15/01/2021 14:25

@MintGreenLife yeah having the downs and everything but my trust is one of the ones that is overrun due to Covid as we were the worst place in the country when my appointment got booked in so I think everything is a bit backed up! I think even at my latest estimate it will be just within the time frame! X

@Sophcf ah fair enough, I guess they are just doing the best they can, that sounds fine then :)

Mae19 · 19/01/2021 14:30

@Sophcf hey guys, hope you dont mind me joining in! Im just over 10 weeks myself and like you Sophcf my scan is the 1st of feb. I found out at about 3 weeks, its been a life time waiting! I had a scan at 9 weeks as this is my first baby and not sure what to expect! Like you all im super anxious! Im finding night times the worst With round ligament niggles and cramps, its impossible to get comfortable! Maybe its just my body prepping me for no sleep when baby arrives in August!

Sophcf · 22/01/2021 10:59

Hi @Mae19 sorry only just seen this! Congratulations! Of course more than welcome to join, I’ve been suffering a bit more of night at the moment (really bad trapped wind pain- apologise if TMI but how it can be so painful is beyond me!) ahh it’s good you’ve had a scan! Just patiently counting the days down now!
