Irregular Cycle, implantation bleeding???

Ok so, you're going to have to bare with me I have a lot to say😂.

So I have been on many types of contraception over the course of the last 7 years including the implanon, depo injection, pill patch and the mini pill. I stopped all forms of contraception around August of 2020 in order to try and gain some kind of control over my body and cycles... I am yet to achieve this though and am having cycles that usually range anywhere between 20 and 42 days.

So anyway, I've been with my parter for 8 years now and although we're not exactly trying for a baby, it's very much talked about and something that we both feel we are about as ready for as we could ever be. However, this dodgy cycle pattern is really making me question my ability to conceive and is making me that much more eager to be pregnant.

So anyway, back to present day😂.... My last proper period was 6 days long (as they usually are) and ended on the 31st of December 2020, according to the app I use to track my cycle I was due to ovulate on the 7th but there is a very good chance this could have occurred earlier or later. On the 12th of Jan in the morning I had light stomach cramps and my partner joked that is must be AF coming already.. Later thay evening I felt a trickle and knew straight away what it was, AF paying me an early visit🥺(or so I thought) but better early than 6 weeks late I suppose... So I quickly got to the toilet and had some brown/very dark red thin blood in my underwear. This continued very lightly for the remainder of the day, and then the following day but got lighter and lighter as time went on. The last time I spotted would have been around 5pm on the 13th. I've waited for it to start back up, and for AF to have a good old laugh at my lack of control over my own body but nothing other than a significant amount of thin clear discharge which is very unusual, even for me with my absolutely ridiculous, all over the place cycle.

Anywayss, we were pretty busy in the beginning of Jan, andhad sex every day between the 1st and the 6th.. but haven't done since due to him working away.

So, my question is that do you think this spotting could potentially be implantation bleeding or am I just grasping straws? Has anybody else had any similar stories that ended in success?

It's possible that it was implantation bleeding but the only way to know really is to test (it might still be too early to test yet though).

I have very irregular periods too and sometimes that includes spotting at random times but so far the spotting has been implantation once (ended up being a chemical pregnancy sadly). Irregular cycles are the worst, they always keep you guessing!

I had irregular cycles before getting PG (shortest was 11 days - clearly not a true cycle, longest was 45) with no known cause. I had odd bleeding a couple of times while TTC (once was very light and pink - classic "implantation" description the other was more like you describe but with some big clots as well) but both times I think they were anovulatory cycles. The second one I know because I was having fertility testing at the time and the results showed I hadn't ovulated, the first showed as anovulatory on my ovusense. After the first one I went to my GP and she basically said it could be lots of different things. She did give me a PG test to do as that was one of the possibilities but it was negative. All you can do is test. Irregular cycles are so difficult!

Yeah I'm going wait until a week or two and see if I get another period first because that's probably going to be more likely🙄. Thank you for your response!😊

Just thought I'd leave an update for anybody that comes across this post with a similar inquiry. I know I've used a lot of these forums for advice whilst ttc....
I took a test on the day of my missed period because I was absolutely convinced that I was! But it was negative so I shook it off and just decided it wouldn't be this month.. So anyway, almost 2 weeks later and my parter told me to do another one because apparently my boobs "looked weird" and much to my surprise, I got my BFP!😊
