Dating scan - is it too late?

Hello all, I've never posted before! Didn't know where else to ask!

I am currently pregnant 9+3. I had a miscarriage five months ago that was quite traumatic (surgery, being left alone in the hospital, blood transfusion went wrong etc) - understandably this has left me nervous about pretty much everything pregnancy related.

I have just had my first scan date through and I will be 13+0. Everywhere suggests it's ok for a scan 11 - 14 weeks. But I'll be in my 14th week? Is that ok? My midwife said I'd have one before 13 weeks, so a little worried. It's probably absolutely fine, but I had two scans in the last pregnancy and neither ended with a positive so the idea of one makes me feel stressed. I've called the midwife but they won't call me back for another 72 hours.

We're also buying a house, I've lost my job and a family member passed away in the last week so that might be clouding my judgement!

Many thanks for reading my rant! :) x

13+0 is absolutely fine. They can do all the testing (if you opt into it).

@3rdtimelucky2019 thank you so much! Nobody ever told me how worrying pregnancy/conceiving is - feels like a constant ball of stress x

Good luck for your scan. 13 weeks should be fine for screening.

When I went to mine I'd miscalculated my dates and was actually 16 weeks. They still did the downs screening but couldn't test for edwards and patau. They assured me they could cover that in the anomaly scan - which was all clear.

@KizzyB 13wks will be fine and think about it this way the more developed your little one is the better view you’ll have of them!

@Rainb0wDrops wow 16 weeks! That's made me feel much better. I suppose they're the professionals doing it all the time, they'll know what to do! :) Thank you x

Yes it was a surprise but actually made me less nervous for the anomaly scan as I thought if anything was seriously wrong they may have picked it up when they scanned at 16 weeks. Also meant I didn't have to wait too long to go back!

I was 13+2 for my dating scan. Absolutely fine ☺️
