Painting when pregnant!

Hi all, I’m 7 weeks pregnant. I’m a bit worried! My partner had used ronseal antimould paint in the bedroom and the lounge today. It seems to be dry now but I’m concerned about being around incase there is still fumes or toxins in the air. Am I over worrying about? Is it ok once paint is dry? It says online don’t sleep in fresh painted room for two days? 😭

Is there anywhere else in the house you could sleep for a few days while the paint off-gasses?

Ronseal Antimould is low-VOC, as are most paints these days. The advice to avoid painting in pregnancy is really outdated, in general paints are much safer than they used to be. I'm an interior designer and am always on and off building sites, plus I've painted so much of my own flat during this pregnancy (was painting trim in the baby's room this morning, 34 weeks), no problems. Just crack a window if you're noticing the smell and you'll be fine.

Don't worry about it. Long as you're not mistakenly using outdoor oil based paint inside, which obviously you're not, it's fine. At any rate that's probably not the case of none of my kids listening to a word I say

I'm planning on decorating the baby nursery in a month or so time, unable to get a decorater in due to lockdown. I am 20w3d pregnant, is this OK to do?

Thank you all so much I feel so much more at ease now. Unfortunately there isn’t anywhere else for me to sleep. We noticed mould and panicked so quickly got it cleaned and painted so it wasn’t until after that we then thought about the risks. Well hubby painted whilst I ate snacks in the kitchen 😂 unfortunately no where else to sleep but the lounge has aired nicely and no smell at all so I’ll be sleeping in there the next few days as bedroom strong smelling still.
