One sore patch on tummy at almost 35 weeks

Hi All,
I'm 34+5 weeks pregnant, and baby is pretty active and apparently has been head down since just before 28 weeks.
I have one really sore spot on my tummy, about 2 inches up and right of my belly button, is this normal? It feels kind of burny/stretchy... There is often a "lump" (one bum cheek maybe) of baby there so I guess it could just be that the baby is always puching/kicking in the same spot? She does seem to favour being curled up on the right side, so kicks are kind of on the left.
Anyone else had something like this?

I had a sore spot at 27 weeks. Looked normal but definitely sore to touch - expected it to look red/raw based on feel but it didn't. No idea what caused it. I moisturised it a bit more and it went away after about 3-4 days. Still a mystery!

hmm weird
I don't think it's a skin thing, the skin looks normal and it feels more like a muscular "tightness"...

We’re not used to be being bashed/bruised from the inside out, so it feels strange. I definitely had it with DS, though, who had his foot pressing visibly through my abdominal wall for weeks and caused a sore spot there.

@RickiTarr yes I suppose so! I find if I gently push on the spot with the palm of my hand for a while it eases (think I'm pushing baby away!)

@JustAnotherUserinParadise I'm 32 weeks and have been experiencing the exact same thing in almost the same place you describe!!! It feels almost bruised without a bruise, very tender feeling and I assumed just a little body part poking through (this makes me feel very queasy as does the movement I can physically see when stomach moves all around 🤯)

Oneandabean · 13/01/2021 10:36

It’s completely normal. I asked my mw about the same thing as I had what felt like a bruised feeling inside, it’s just where baby has been giving you a bit of a beating in the same spot.

Well it's still ongoing but I'm less worried thanks!
I've realised that I tend to sit at my desk kind of leaning towards the right. If I lean a bit the other way I feel a similar kind of pressure on the left side.
So it's probably a combination of my short torso and poor posture!

Felt like I should update this!
We found out that baby was breech at 38 weeks, so that sore spot was her head! She was definitely in the same position at 36 weeks as well and they missed it!

I'm glad all turned out well op! I suppose just as a cautionary tale for anyone who comes across this thread in the future, I suffered a placental abruption with my second baby and the only sign (before the sudden bleeding) was what felt like a sore bruised spot on my bump, just to the left of my belly button. So it's always worth getting it checked out.
