Am I miscarrying?

Hi I'm sorry if this isn't the right place to post this but I was hoping for your collective wisdom. I started bleeding yesterday at day 13 of my cycle. I'm usually very, very regular. It was bright red yesterday and is dark brown today (sorry for the tmi). My partner and I are having unprotected sex but not ttc per se. Am I miscarrying? I did a pregnancy test which was negative but I don't think it'd show up at day 13 either way. Grateful for your advice.

I would think it’s too early for a miscarriage. Day 12ish - 14 (depending on the length of your cycle) would be ovulation. It then takes around 10-14 days for implantation. I would think only from around day 28 onwards would it be a miscarriage with bleeding (and even then, it could be implantation bleeding)

No my last cycle was normal

Ovulation bleeding can be common, but if it's not normal for you do get checked. Did you have other signs of ovulation around that time?

I had this and it was caused by an absolutely harmless ovarian cyst. I concieved next cycle!

If the bleeding gets heavier or you are in pain, seek medical help immediately.

I had something like this about 2 years into TTC - it was a weird "period" 11 days after the last one ended. It had clots in it as well so same as you I thought it could be a MC. It also lasted ages! I think I bled for about 14 days (getting lighter at the end) when my period is usually only 3-4 days of actual bleeding. I then had a "normal" period 4 days after it stopped.

With hindsight I don't think it was a MC. Because I was TTC I'd done a PG test 2 weeks earlier and I did one just after the bleeding started - both were negative. The timing was off as well - there was no way we could've conceived in the window between the last period and this bleed. I went to see the Dr and she seemed pretty unconcerned and said there can be various reasons and as long as it's a one off not to worry. Went back into a regular cycle after this happened and we finally conceived about 10 months later.

It was really strange though!
