Nervous for my 12 week scan

Although I'm excited to see baby on the screen I can't help but keep thinking I might be told something might be wrong. I have nothing to worry about to think this way but it's just nerve wrecking till you see

Anyone else felt this way 🙈 xx

Its normal too feel nervous. I feel nervous before every scan. All you can do is hope for the best. I found the 20 week scan worse. Thats when they can check the actually baby in alot more depth. They spend alot of time looking at their head, measuring various parts of the brain. They spend alot of time checking the heart too for any abnormalities. Ive defo felt more relaxed after that 20 week scan knowing nothing was picked up.

@PFin it's mad how your mind can make you feel ghis way 🙈 I find it so much more madder how things can even change in a blink pregnancy is such an amazing thing but it's also the most scariest too! I'm so glad your more relaxed now that's so good to hear! Xxxx

Yep! Got my 12 week scan on Tuesday. Had a private one at about 7.5 weeks which went well, saw heartbeat and everything looked good. Still feel nervous though!

I was exactly the same, got myself so worked up and convinced something was wrong, I was actually shocked when the little wriggling baby came onto the screen! I’m now almost 19 weeks and starting to get nervous for the 20 week one already, but it’s definitely not as scary as before, and I heard the heartbeat at 16 weeks as well which was lovely :)

Me too. Although I've already had a scan at 7 weeks at my ivf clinic and a private one when I was 9 weeks, I just can't help but worry! I keep seeing cute clothes which I thought I'd be rushing to order, but I can't bring myself to buy anything.

Same here - 12 week scan at the end of this week and very nervous. IVF baby (6th round), 1st pregnancy. I had a scan at 7 and 9 weeks and all was as it should be. This eve have had some pink spotting - hardly anything - which has sent me into a tailspin. Will be a long week waiting I think.

I think it’s normal to be anxious, even if there is no specific reason to think something is wrong. I had IVF and have been really struggling to believe the pregnancy is actually happening - even though the scans have been fine I start to worry again the next day that something must be wrong!

You can get private scans done, if the 12week one is really the 1st one for this pregnany?

I did try to book private but because of lockdown again I found the date I could was past my 12 week scan which is tomorrow anyway 🙈so been waiting patiently for it xxxx
