Pregnant post mmc but Early scan 1 week behind

Hi all,

I had a missed miscarriage 6/10 had medical management and then needed d&c at end of Oct. Had first period on 17/11 and positive test on 20/12. I had an early scan yesterday-I had calculated I was 7 wks3 day but scan showed 5wks 6 days and no heartbeat. Doctor said it’s 50/50 on whether i ovulated late and too early to see heartbeat (I also have tilted uterus) or if I’m miscarrying again. I’ve another scan booked for 10 days-which I’m dreading 🙈
I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience and what was the outcome? Thanks in advance-will be a long 10 days waiting to find out 🙈😔

hey @Tara835 - dont have a similar experience but just wanted to say good luck and hopefully its just dates are a bit out after a MMC.

I had one in Oct too, and now just under 6 weeks pregnant and absolutely terrified it will happen again, it's horrible isnt it :(
good luck for the next scan. im going to book a reassurance scan - but just expecting it to give me no reassurance and just bad news...!

Thank you for your reply. I’m sorry to hear you also experienced mmc-it’s so cruel. Congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope your scan reassures you so you can enjoy your pregnancy or at least ease the worry. I know what you mean about expecting the worst-I am the same.
Fingers crossed this time will be different and we will get our bundle of joy 🤞🏼💞

Hey @Tara835 I know this is a week old post so I'm hoping all I'd still ok for you. I'm in an identical situation almost down the the dates so absolutely feel your anxiety . Had the early scan last Thursday now have to wait until the 26th for another to see if the pregnancy has progressed. The anxiety is horrendous. One thing they did so which has provided some reassurance, is take bloods and check my HcG levels on Thursday and again yesterday to ensure they're increasing. They had doubled which has made me feel a little better. Have yours been checked? It's minimal comfort but the most we can get at this stage and did help me relax a bit x

I am sorry to hear you are in the same situation-horrible. I’m getting my follow up scan on Tuesday evening🙈 I’m going between convincing myself all is okay one minute to preparing for bad news the next and hyper vigilant to every twinge-which is so not like me. I will be glad just to know-the waiting is headwrecking. I haven’t had my bloods checked-I went for private scan as epu said to wait a few weeks and see what happens. It’s great news your hcg is doubling-great sign. I will let you know ...and fingers crossed for you xx

I have a retroverted uterus too, which makes it hard for them to scan early on.
Our twins were behing on an early scan but caught up by their dating scan. In July we had a scan (internal) that showed our baby 6 days behind on growth with a heartbeat, a week later I miscarried that one (currently 9wks with another). So it can go either way. Fingers crossed for you that the next scan shows some progress and a heartbeat.

Thank you leftitlate37 - I’m really busy at work and trying to homeschool my boys in the evenings so time has passed surprisingly quick-still some time in evenings for Googling to try and predict what will happen! 🙈 hopefully you will get good news at the weekend 🤞🏼

Thank you @Chelyanne-I’m sorry for your loss. It is impossible to predict- I’d seen Heart beat at 7wks but had mmc after that 🥲 I do wonder sometimes if early scans create more anxiety than reassurance!

@tara835 I thought the same so waiting for my dating scan rather than getting a private one again. I still felt uneasy last time despite the scan, it feels different this time so hoping that we'll get a scan date and see an active healthy little one in there soon.
Our twins turn 6 in March, we have older ones at 8, 10 & 15 too. Busy house.

@chelyanne Fabulous busy house 💞 I’ve 3 boys 2,3 and 6. I also felt something was wrong despite the heartbeat in scan. I don’t trust my intuition as much now though -I’m
Not sure if it’s fear of history repeating -another mmc or afraid to get excited incase baby doesn’t make it.

Anyway positive vibes to all who are in this position-all we can do is wait and hope xx

Hi all-bad news unfortunately-another mmc 😔To anyone else in this situation my doctor Was saying someone else in similar situation got good news and heartbeat earlier in the day so don’t give up hope. I wish you all the best in your pregnancy’xx
