Google says about 1 in 700...

I think that might medical treatment is very advanced for those types of issues so I’m not sure it’s anything to be too concerned about.

My friend's DC was born with a cleft lip and palette 20 years ago. The surgery was great then. I assume it's even better now.

A cleft lip and palate is the most common birth defect in the UK as someone else said its about 1 in 700. They can usually be picked up at the 20 week anomoly scan. Have you asked for any reason or just wondering? Sorry just interests me I was born with a cleft lip and palate.

I was born with a cleft palate, what is your concern?

Have you had your 20 week scan.? They can pick it up and give you a plan if so .

My sister was born with a cleft palate 25 years ago. All of my mums other pregnancies were 'normal'. She had the operation when she was a year old, the guidelines have probably changes now. It was managed incredibly well then will probably be even better now.

1 and 700, odds decrease if there are previous instances in the family.
