Hi, I am 39 + 4 pregnant and have been having cramps/discomfort ( cant really descibe them as pain as such ) for the last couple of days. Last night I started with reaaly sharp pains in my groin though. They dont last long and come and go but are really painful, no pattern and dont spread to my tummy. Havent had a show yet but have just felt really off this past couple of days. Could it be early, slow labour? How long could this go on for if it is? My dd was born at 34 weeks so no experience of the waiting game!

oooh sounds like something could be happening with dd2 i felt 'off' with pain for a few days before my waters broke

is baby still moving lots?

ale233 · 26/10/2007 21:46

yes, baby is still moving but not as much as it was, i suppose it is just bigger. I'm just fed up of thinking this is finally it!!! I keep thinking things are moving but then they stop or slow down. This groin pain is new though so fingers crossed.

when you say groin pain is it like a stitch and right in the groin on one side (sorry can't explain it better) i had that and they said it was baby laying on a nerve...bloody painful it was.

ale233 · 26/10/2007 21:53

its like when you get cramp in your leg but its on the left hand side of my groin and just comes very quickly and then goes but it is really painful. The last few weeks/days of pregnancy really are hard work arent they!!

you're not wrong lol

if you're still in pain tomorrow, it might be worth calling your midwife just to check things out. let me know how you get on

oh and good luck!

ale233 · 26/10/2007 22:02

Thanks elescarybells, I'll let you know.

OOO.. It sounds like you are having a slow labor. I was like that for a couple of days before I went into progressive labor! cramps in my groin, feeling crapy. I had a "stretch & sweep" but i'm sure you can only have them when your 40wks+ which is a shame coz that would bring it on more!
could be a couple of days yet though! GOOD LUCK x

i know is totally off the subject, but i'm experiancing Anti Social Behavour form my neighbour. Its driving me crazy!! Lound music all night, 6am this morning woke me and DS up!! & its been goning on since 9.20!!

Tangas- we had the same problem but we were living in a bad area when we had no money. In the end we were allowed out of a lease 2 months early as I was pregnant. If you're in a lease, put it in writing and lay it on thick and you'll be able to get out of it. Say you feel threatened as well. If you've got a mortgage then i don't know what to suggest as that's pretty unlucky. Potentially call the police if it's after 11pm and before 8am? It tends to be tennants that play loud music rather than homeowners in my experience, so you'll be able to get them kicked out.

how are you this morning?

ale233 · 29/10/2007 10:09

Hi, Im still here. Still having the stitch in my groin and have had pains and my tummy going tight but no pattern to them and nothing very strong. I had a show last night so I'm hoping I should start soon, Ive also started leaking milk. I'm due tomorrow and really fed up now.
