Constipation medication

Hi all, can I ask what medication you've been advised to take in pregnancy for constipation? 23 weeks with DC2 and it wasn't an issue with DC1 but now it is awful. I'm really struggling. I'm a vegetarian and have a high fibre diet. I also drink lots of water and go for a run or walk every day. Everything online says talk to your GP or pharmacist, but getting through to a GP is basically impossible at the moment, and I really don't want to go into a Pharmacy if I can avoid it!

Thanks!

I would go to your pharmacy. If your GP prescribes you something wouldn’t you have to collect from their anyway ?

Also in the current climate I personally wouldn’t take up a GP appointment for constipation. Pharmacist is more than qualified to suggest a safe OTC solution.

In my previous Pregnancy I used movical with success.

There are many OTT options and the pharmacist will advise the safest for pregnancy.

Lactulose is a stool softener.
