Growth scan needed after bump measured small

My 31 week bump is measuring the same as at 28weeks, so I've been referred for a scan. Has anyone else had this? Panicking slightly waiting for someone to call with an appt time!

I had to get a growth scan a bit further on than you last time due to bump size not getting bigger. Everything was fine. She was a good weight too. Just remember measurements can differ if different people are measuring you. Dont panic and see it as an extra chance to see your baby. One of my friends had to get multiple extra growth scans too and her baby was a great weight.

Hi, I had this at 28 weeks and was sent straight to hospital for a growth scan. I'm quite slim so was expecting it and midwife said it was quite common for slim people. When I had scan baby was measuring on 95th percentile and A/C measurement was really high so I had to go back again at which point baby had dropped on the growth chart so I've been having them every two weeks. I'm now 38+1 and baby's growth has stabilised just above 50th percentile so I shouldn't need another one. Try not to worry, the measurements that the midwives do are not very accurate and its quite common to get referred for a scan.

I had the same thing with bump measuring small at 36 weeks. Growth scan showed baby on 97tj percentile!!! And then at a consultant appointment I was rescanned and he estimated baby to be around 70th febrile and said how notoriously inaccurate growth scans can be so try not to panic!

Thank you for the reassurance! It's tomorrow afternoon so hopefully all is well!

I had this earlier on at 20 weeks with baby measuring small (less than 5th percentile, previous baby was 99th percentile)
I had follow up scans and all was fine in the end.
She’s now 7 months old and petite but perfect

I ended up being sent for 4 growth scans during my last pregnancy. I consistently measured 10 weeks under my dates (I.e. bump was measuring 30 weeks at 40 weeks). Baby was fine, growing perfectly, just liked to hang out in my rib cage (ouch!).

I had this every time I was measured with my first and I had it again just before Christmas with my third, when just like you I measured the same at 28 weeks and the next appointment. To be honest it isn’t very accurate them measuring with the tape measure and if you are quite petite/toned before you got pregnant you don’t tend to have a huge bump anyway. Whenever I’ve been sent for a scan they’ve checked and I’m measuring smack bang between the lines. My first child arrived at 39 weeks and 7lb so very average. I really wouldn’t worry.

I had my 36 week scan this week. Measuring in the 93rd percentile. Long legs too, which is bizarre as I’m short and my husband is well below 6 foot.
Also lots of fluid!
Feeling a little stressed about it

My bump stopped at about 32 weeks so I spent the remaining weeks having a weekly growth scan. He came out bang on the 50th centile on his due date :)

Im not saying these measurements are wrong they use them for a reason but my friend had a baby 2 months ago. She was told her bump was measuring small at her last midwife appointment and they brought her in for a scan around 2 weeks before babes due date. They booked her in for an induction on her due date and said if he comes by himself before then great thats fine. Anyway he came after she was induced weighing in at 9lb 2oz. That certainly was NOT a baby who had stopped growing lol! Just bear in mind this is precaution usually things are fine. But get checked out. Sending you love, good luck.
