Strange Popping Sensation 'Down Below'

Hello ladies,

Sorry for the TMI - I'm 22-weeks pregnant and for the last 1-2 weeks I randomly get a strange popping sensation in my vagina/ cervix. Little girl was breech at my 20-week scan so I am wondering if it is her kicking low down? I've been feeling movement since 16-17 weeks.

Have any of you experienced this please? If so, did you speak to your midwives about it? I don't want to ring and them to think I am a crazy nervous nelly but it really is the weirdest feeling!!

TIA xx

Is it a fairly rhythmic pop? If so, could be hiccups. But I don't think I felt them that low down usually.

Tigerlily08 · 07/01/2021 14:46

@greenflamingo no I wouldn't say rhythmic - they happen randomly and can vary in number Confused

Maybe check with your midwife though. I reckon your theory of kicking down is the most likely but worth checking anything that's bothering you.

Your description sounds much more like kicking. But I am no expert. Even on my third pregnancy I was confused by most things that happened and couldn't remember if it was normal. Good luck with LO.

@greenflamingo yeah you're right. I need to contact her to collect my MAT1B so will tie in on to that. Thank you x

I would put it down to kicking, too... I found that how movements felt changed as I went through pregnancy, so I wouldn't have thought these sensations are anything to worry about.

Yes, I get this... to me it feels like the baby is kicking my cervix. It does feel a bit different to kicks in other areas, but I guess it would.

Thank you ladies x
