Is this a positive ?

Hi took a test last night and this morning both results a very faint positive after about 20 minutes, I know it's longer than the test says to wait but I thought it's maybe just because I'm not due my period for 5 days.

I thought maybe they could be evaporation lines?

Looks like it could be. Those clear blue tests are harder to read early than the pink dye ones. If you can, maybe get a first response early result test as they show more clearly this early! Good luck x

Hi OP, I can definitely see a line but it's very thin, I've had a few like that that turned out to be negative- but I've also one that was confirmed positive afterwards.

Blue dye tests can give confusing results, can you get hold of a first response test? They have pink dye and are really sensitive.

Yeah I was originally going for the early response pink dye one as it's what I used for my first pregnancy but my supermarket didn't have any pink dye test at all, they only had clear blue ones that being said I did manage to pick up a 6 day early clear blue test but I am unsure of the result because I have heard a lot of bad things about these tests! But I will get a pink dye test from Tesco later.

If it’s over the amount of time your supposed to wait then You can’t count it. Do a frer and once the time is up throw it.

I still have tests that look just like that some as far back as 16 years old (I'm sentimental - they're stored hygienically and I don't let anyone near them). They are my tests from 4 weeks pregnancy with all my children.

Do another test for sure, but I think it looks positive. Good luck.

@WhatsTheTea yes I took another test one came back faint positive with a cheap strip and early response was negative! I started bleeding yesterday 3 days before my period! Nothing like my period at all first day I got it started off soaking through my trousers so I put a tampon on thinking it was my period, almost no blood all day so I took it out as it was sore having it in as it was almost dry! But I put one in before bed and woke up again with a lot of blood on my pants and the tampon was covered, also had stingy clots? My health visitor told me to take another test in a few days but she says you can bleed heavy implantation in rare cases. I did have implantation bleeding with my first child but i was only the once and was pink! Almost invisible! Got it 2 days before my period was due.
