Could I be pregnant?

Okay this is a bit of a long story, so bear with me haha!

Last cycle I was on doxycycline to treat a cervical inflammation. Around 4 days before finishing the 2 week course, I started noticing breast changes (particularly nipples sticking out a little more, and aereolas getting darker - they weren’t massive changes, quite subtle but noticeable), nausea, fatigue and insomnia. Due to the holiday season I thought it better to test to make sure. I peed in a cup and used 2 pregnancy tests of the same brand with the same pee sample - one was negative, and one had a faint line. 2 days later AF arrived. Spoke to my doctor and she thinks it was a chemical pregnancy and that I should definitely be careful going forward as I could be very fertile??

Fast forward two weeks, my boyfriend and I were trying to be very careful during ovulation time (were still looking for a place together so timing for baby would be a bit off) - and sorry for the TMI but he literally stuck it in for just 2 thrusts and was nowhere near finishing.
Now it’s a week away from my period and I am feeling super tired again (I am sleeping 10 hours at night and having a 30min - 1 hour nap during the day). I am also quite nauseas, but symptoms don’t feel “as strong” as last months.

Could I be pregnant?

Possibly, the only way to know is by taking a test. The pregnancy you thought was chemical may not have been - some women bleed in early pregnancy.

@sarahb083 I had a vaginal ultrasound done at the gyne which would have been at 6 weeks, and my period following the chemical pregnancy lasted 8 days and was super heavy with clots and everything, so I’m not sure that’s the case.
Period is due on Monday so I’ll just wait till then, if it’s late, I’ll test.

Thanks :)

I'd say they're maybe normal hormonal symptoms ect because if you're still a week away from you're period, symptoms wouldn't be that strong yet really

Well you weren’t being super careful were you? Being super careful wouldn’t include sex. Being CAREFUL would have included at least a condom plus some other type of birth control. Sperm leaks from the PE is even before orgasm. It’s basic biology you learn at school. If you are going to ask for advice, at least hold your hands up and admit you were being extremely silly and careless.

@E1ffelTower - thanks for your comment. Yes maybe we weren’t being as careful as perhaps you would be. However, I do not agree with taking the pill, and have been struggling with bacterial vaginosis for over 4 years (and have only got it totally under control the past month) so any sort of iUD or condoms are totally out of the question, since these would totally mess up my ph.
I am in my late 20s and both My partner and I have very steady jobs, so a baby wouldn’t be the worst thing, especially after the scares I have had over the past year with bacterial vaginosis.

My question was about my symptoms, and not asking for you to rate how silly or careless I have been.

@SnooperTrooper12345 - yes you’re right, could definitely be the case! Thank you Smile
