Induction at 40+8

I'm going to be induced at 40+8 since bubs is in no hurry to join my husband and I on the outside.

I'm really stressed out by the idea to the extent that I'm not sleeping. I asked my midwife for a cervical examination and sweep today, however I was a fingertip dilated (no change from my like examination on 27 December). The midwife couldn't get in to do an actual sweep, but did massage the neck of the womb.

It feels like my body just isn't ready to start labour yet and that I'm just going to have a nightmare induction as a result. It feels like inductions only go well if you just need a leg up so to speak.

I'm trying to write my birth preferences/requests (I don't believe in plans, and am not bothered if things have to change) but I don't know what to include since the information about what will happen, what I can do and so on is different with every appointment.

Any ideas on the type of thing I can discuss during the induction as options?

Hi, I had an induction at 40+6. I had a sweep before and they couldn't do it either.
I only had an induction because my waters started leaking. I wasn't in labour at all.
My induction actually went quite well. I was given the pessary which started off slowly and then stopped and then put on the drip at 7am and she was born at 7pm

I was induced at 40+6, my waters had gone (24hrs before) but I wasn’t dilated at all.
Pessary put in at 11.30am, baby arrived by 7pm. It was really a good birth in the end although being induced was the last thing I wanted.
