swollen tonsils what can i use before needing to go doctors

im 15 weeks nearly and have really sore throat, swollen tonsils please help as im not sure if i can take anything to help with this.

I believe the only painkiller you can safely use is paracetamol. But go to the chemist and ask to speak to the pharmacist to see if he/she can recommend anything else for your throat.
Also, try disolving a teaspoon of salt in a mug of hot water, and then gargling with it to help soothe your throat.
Hope you feel better soon. DP had a rotten cold last week, and now I've got it . I'm 4 days over my due date, so I hope it clears up before babs arrives.

well i hope ur better too before ur lo arrives, its going around everyone in my family has the flu and are ill in bed. thanks for ur advice im going to gargle a cup of that now, i have these lozengers called tyrozets that are an anaesthetic that numb the troat and help with infection because they have antibiotic in them too but not sure if i can have them 0r not.
