Aldi Baby Event

FTM24 · 05/01/2021 17:48

Hi everyone Smile

The baby aldi event is coming, unfortunately you can't see what is being sold yet, but would love to know your best buys from previous events so I can keep an eye out?

I need a moses basket so hoping to get one of these in the event, also lots more muslins and a changing mat.

Also what does everyone think of the aldi wipes and nappies?

Thanks Grin

Now on the Aldi website.

peachypetite · 11/01/2021 03:31

Moses basket, muslins, bibs, baby changing backpack.

tofuschnitzel · 11/01/2021 07:15

It says on the website that some items, including baby furniture, have been delayed until March.

FTM24 · 11/01/2021 07:35

@anth85 my friend got all her furniture in the baby event and was quite pleased with it.

I didn't find the event that good, I think it's cause a lot has been delayed. But I'm due in early March so I'll probably miss the next part!

Has anyone brought the bambino mis all in one reusable nappies before?

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 11/01/2021 07:58

Keep an eye on the price of branded items - they're not necessarily cheaper.

I second the nappies, both my DDs have used them exclusively and we've had no problems. Co-op were the only ones I found that leaked. And the sensitive wipes are great and that big box is definitely great value.

I didn't buy much but found their baby clothes to be nice and soft.

For older babies they always have good deals on branded baby foods.

Luckyelephant1 · 11/01/2021 13:35

@tofuschnitzel

It says on the website that some items, including baby furniture, have been delayed until March.
So does that mean there's definitely another baby event around March? I'm not ready to start buying yet but Spring/Easter time would be ideal.

Got my eye on the Moses basket as its such a good price especially since it includes the stand and mattress! Always hear mixed reviews about how useful Moses baskets are so at least if it's 30 quid it's not the end of the world if it doesn't get used much.

FTM24 · 11/01/2021 17:38

@Luckyelephant1 I found this article

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.mirror.co.uk/money/shopping-deals/aldi-announces-return-popular-baby-23285780.amp

Not sure there will another full event now because of this? Normally they do them every few months and everything is sold together but seems there's been a delay a instead they're doing two.. and only certain bits being sold in the second one Hmm. How far along are you?

Luckyelephant1 · 11/01/2021 18:05

@FTM24 thanks! I'm 14 weeks. Reluctant to start getting anything until at least after 20 weeks!

Heyha · 11/01/2021 18:14

Anything and everything to be honest, just pace yourself 😂 their baby food, toiletries, nappies and wipes are always a good price though so if you don't want to store them/invest for too long then I wouldn't fill your trolley with these, get all the more interesting stuff first! The Bambino mio reusable nappies are usually a really keen price if you fancy giving cloth a go without having to commit too much. Bibs, muslins, baby grows etc are all on a par with other supermarket brands. Keep an eye out for the baby medical cabinet stuff too, as long as the expiry dates are good, especially if they have the Vicks menthol plugin things again. Oh and any Nuby teething stuff that takes your fancy.

Heyha · 11/01/2021 18:20

@JeffV yes I have used them (but not full time as they don't cope well with poo I don't put them on til I think we're in liquid-only territory for the day 😂). I'm sure there's better cloth nappies out there but I wanted to have some in for in case we ever ran out of nappies for some bizarre reason and they have been used in general alongside disposables.

FTM24 · 11/01/2021 18:36

@Luckyelephant1 ah I'm sure there will be another one yet in the summer before your due date! Grin

Thought I'd share I bought last year in the baby event-
Cot bed
Cot bed mattress
Wardrobe
Whinging table
Moses basket &matress

These were all great and very sturdy

Fitted cot sheets were crap, they didn't fit the Moses or cot bed mattress- strange so I used tesco which were better quality

Nappies, sensitive baby wipes, formula, all great and prices are great all year round

Loads of nuby teething toys which were great

Lots of wooden toys at Xmas also great quality

I'd say avoid clothes and fitted sheets - they weren't great quality

JohnMiddleNameRedactedSwanson · 11/01/2021 23:15

I think a pp was after the Moses basket? It’s now available online.

Lovemylittlebear · 12/01/2021 02:08

I like the look of the sleeping bags but still says coming soon x

anth85 · 14/01/2021 11:09

we've been to two this morning, things we wanted but neither had,

changing mats
sleeping bags
towels

emmafou1807 · 14/01/2021 11:11

@anth85 I think the things you are after have been delayed. Someone shared an article about certain items not launching until Feb and sleeping bags, towels and muslins was definately on the list.

anth85 · 14/01/2021 11:21

that would explain it thanks, ill have a look back.

Lovemylittlebear · 14/01/2021 11:48

Ah those are exactly the bits I was hoping to pick up
Grobag
Towels
Muslins
Changing mat

Are they not in yet? X

DressyGerbera · 14/01/2021 11:49

Hi All I just saw this! I didn't realise there are baby events by shops ( FTM here!). I am due in August so hopefully there will be another one then? I have missed the aldi one.

FTM24 · 14/01/2021 12:15

@Lovemylittlebear I know the changing mats have definitely been delayed which is annoying as they're so cheap (£4!) I'm going to see what they have in the shop tonight or tomorrow.

@DressyGerbera there will def be another one Smile this is the second one during my pregnancy and I'm just over 30 weeks.

Just got back from aldi, they have some really nice bits in. The Moses basket was 29.99 I believe.

Lovemylittlebear · 14/01/2021 15:25

Thank you :)

peachypetite · 14/01/2021 16:17

Their muslins and bibs have been great too

Lovemylittlebear · 14/01/2021 17:16

Does anyone know of any good sales for a maxi car seat pebble I size? I thought we had our daughters one in spare room but husband had put in a bin bag in the garage and I don’t want to use it now just in case. Just wondering if anyone has seen a good deal? X
