One very itchy boob!

Hello ☺️

I’m currently 9 weeks pregnant and a little concerned by the fact that I have one very itchy boob. I know it’s normal to have itchy breasts during pregnancy but this is extremely itchy (waking me in the night!) and only my left boob with the right one being perfectly fine.
I know I am being completely irrational but in my attempt to find a way of easing the itch I did a google search and came across posts about inflammatory breast cancer so now I’m terrified!
I do have a red rash now but this is only from scratching and it was not there before.
I’m reluctant to speak to my GP as I know I’m being a bit crazy but I have now genuinely worried myself.
Anyway...has anyone else experienced this bizarre symptom of only one boob being itchy? I need to know if this is normal or not 😭😭

Yes! I’ve had this the whole way through. 18 weeks now and it’s not letting up. My nipples are also really hot! Blush I wouldn’t worry about it.

Aw that’s reassuring thank you! I’m well known in my family for being a very anxious person health wise.
Hope you manage to get some relief from it soon!

I’m 9 weeks too also with an incredibly itchy left boob! I have no idea why, I sort of rationalised that maybe it was growing and making the skin itchy? But I haven’t googled it because it’s generally scary. I’ve also had an itchy tummy but the boob takes the biscuit!

My nipple and boob in general also gets random really bad pains that last a few minutes, unsure if connected but assuming it’s because everything is changing!

Hope it passes and you get some relief from it!

@Thisisbananas3 yeah, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s just the skin stretching. I am already quite large chested and they have grown quite a bit so far. I don’t know why it’s only one boob, maybe it’s because it’s the side I sleep on so it drops down more? Who knows??
I’ve had a proper look at it tonight and after applying some cream and forcing myself not to scratch the redness has started to reduce so I’ve reassured myself there.
I also get the odd sharp pain now and again, mainly in the side. Who knew pregnancy brought such wonderful side effects 😂😂
Hope you get some relief too!

Haha yes to this, 18 weeks now and have had an itchy right nipple for weeks. I looked in the mirror the other day and it's a fair bit larger than my other nipple now so I assume the itchiness is from it growing
Not scratching definitely helps me, and rubbing in some vitamin e cream

@MrsLauraM oh my god same!!!! Could have written this myself. It’s my left one… it’s driving me nuts (am 12w pregnant)…. Everything on Google says about inflammatory BC… honestly I don’t know why I do it to myself and make me worry! I can’t see anything on the skin, although there were red marks after I’d scratched the life out of it.

I know this post was at the start of this year…. How did you get on with it? X
