Hi everyone
I’m just over 7 weeks at the minute with my first and I feel rubbish every minute of the day if I’m not feeling insanely sick I’m being sick
It’s all day mostly with no relief at all
Today I’m struggling to keep water down
I’ve tried most of the home remedies but nothing is working, I’m so energy at all and I’m worried about my lack of eating and drinking and the affects it may have
Any advice is very much appreciated
Thank you xx

It's horrible.. It is worth phoning your Gp and asking for medication

Caz1226 · 04/01/2021 12:50

Hello
I’m worried about taking any medication to be honest 😞

The GP will be able to reassure you with anything they prescribe, but it is worth speaking to them and seeing what they suggest and if they can suggest alternatives. At the moment you don't share a bloodstream with the baby so don't worry about getting the full balanced diet, anything you can manage at the moment is for keeping your energy up. I could barely eat anything in the first trimester but it has eased off in the second and it does for most people! Hang in there

It could be HG. I had this in my pregnancies and I had to be medicated. There’s a great support group for it too if you have it.
I feel for you it’s awful please seek help if you can’t keep anything down. Xx

Hi! I have been in your shoes three times. Each pregnancy got worse. My last one I was off work for almost two months as I could do nothing but sleep: lie in a darkened room. Please don't be put off medication it is your right. And it can actually take a wee while to find a combination that works I ended up on two different tablet( sorry have no idea of the names) but it meant I felt human enough and then managed to care for my sons and be a wife and mum and work. It's horrible, if you can get signed off to give your body a chance to recover. A dark room and Fanta with bubbles out and ice helped me and chocolate milkshake haha

Thank you so much everyone
My boss is very understanding and I am working from home in any event I just feel so terrible- and I think of how many women have gone through this and I upset myself thinking why am I struggling so much
Mums with other children in this situation are superhero’s I cannot even begin to imagine how you could do it
I’ve been reading a lot of some say they have this for months and months and I just think- how!
Today is a particular bad day, not even holding water down is draining me but I’ll speak with my partner about the GP and possible medication xx

Sorry to hear you’ve been so unwell.

Well worth talking to your GP- I spoke with mine was prescribed anti emetics. I really did not want to take them but I could not keep water down- I knew once it hit 24 hours of no water I’d have to go on a drip and I really didn’t want that. I don’t take them everyday because they make so drowsy, not feasible when I’m working. I would also say for me it stopped the vomiting but not the nausea.

If your mouth tastes horrible I’d recommend flat lemonade, water is just so disgusting to me right now! Hope you feel better or get some respite soon

If you can’t keep water down you should definitely consider medication, you don’t want to become dehydrated.
I took cyclizine throughout my entire pregnancy and for me it worked really well.

Hi everyone
My GP has asked for a urine test and advised me to go on stemetil
Has anyone ever been on this? xx

Hey, I always get really sick like this; I'm 27 weeks now with baby number 6 and feeling a lot better than I was but my god the first trimester was horrific.

I was prescribed Stemetil and it didn't really help that much tbh xx
