Baby breech at 20 weeks

Hi, I had my 20 week scan last week and the sonography said my baby was breech. I didn’t think much of it as I presumed there is plenty of time for it to move.

Now I’ve fallen in to the classic trap of googling it and worrying myself.

Has anyone else been told their baby was breech at 20 weeks? If so, did it turn or stay that way?

Thank you

I don't think they start worrying about breech until 35 weeks or so - at 20 weeks baby still has plenty of time and space to move around.

It's nothing to worry about. At 20 weeks it's normal for the foetus to be in many different positions.

They roll and flip and change positions all the time at 20 weeks. They have room to move right now so don’t worry.

Don't worry about it, the midwifes won't be concerned until you're 34/36 weeks. There's plenty of time for baby to move. Mine was breech at 28 week but at my next appointment he was head down

There is still so much room for your baby to move - they will likely change position many, many more times before birth! Mine was in breech at 36 weeks then had come down by 38. Absolutely nothing to worry about at this stage.

Breech is normal at 20wks.
My baby is still breech now at 34wks.

My second baby was breech until 35 weeks, then turned herself. Which was a great relief, as a large bony head rammed up under one’s diaphragm is very uncomfortable and makes it hard to get a decent breath!
You really don’t need to worry about the possibility of needing a Caesarian for breech until much later in your pregnancy, OP. At 20 weeks, your baby will be moving between several positions as it has plenty of space to manoeuvre.

Thanks all. I thought so but I get carried away on google! I’ll step away : )
