@SprogletsMum

The 20 weeks after pregnancy are definitely the hardest
Ha ha! Very true! 🤣

For me it was the first 20. Nausea, tiredness, anxiety about the whole dang thing. Once the 20 week scan was out of the way, and I started feeling movement, it was quite nice from then on out. I put it down to my max pregnancy weight being only slightly higher than the heaviest I've ever weighed, so maybe my body hadn't forgotten how to carry it around. I was also fortunate to avoid PGP, insomnia and any other late pregnancy ailments other than swelling.

The last 20, but really the last 5 or 6. But they were worse than the worst bit of the first trimester.

With dd2
Definitely the last 20 weeks because I didn't find out I was pregnant until then.

dottiedaisee · 03/01/2021 00:16

First 20 weeks..anxiety!!

Gkeshs3under3 · 03/01/2021 00:19

Mentally- first 20weeks
Physically- last 20weeks

ImnotCarolineHirons · 03/01/2021 00:25

First half definitely. Awful fatigue (and I was working long shifts at the time) worry and constantly feeling sick. And no sympathy or seats on the bus as no one knows you're pregnant Grin
Last half much better, more energy, knowing baby was doing fine, and although he was late I never got enormous, uncomfortable or had heartburn etc I felt fine right up until labour.
Now labour was another story Wink

1st 20 weeks were bad for me as I had awful nausea.
Loved the last 20, especially the bump. Ah, I miss the bump now!

IamC · 03/01/2021 06:28

@Polyethyl interested to know more about your sparkly vision. Had two episodes of this....the second I went to PAU for, and they put it down to me having started insulin for gd the day previous.

The diabetes team were skeptical about it being gd related when they found out, but it's not happened so ive so I've not pursued it.

hammeringinmyhead · 03/01/2021 09:11

I found the last 20 weeks harder. Anterior placenta and a chilled-out baby, plus a very prominent kicks count campaign at the time, meant I was constantly worried about movements.

LittleTiger007 · 03/01/2021 09:13

@Lottie917 I’m hoping that’s how I will feel towards the end of the pregnancy.
@Iminaglasscaseofemotion (great name! Good film ref) I’m sorry you’ve been in such pain... it’s good you’re not working now. Hopefully things will be better now you can rest.

My first 20 weeks were nerve wracking at first due to previous losses and I felt sick and tired, although the sickness wasn’t too bad. Heartburn and reflux has started now big time which is not good. The sleeplessness is not great either, but good practice for later I guess. It’s nice having a little bump and feeling some movements. I’m looking forward to feeling movements regularly and I know that it will all be worthwhile in May when I have a baby in my arms!
Thanks for your comments ladies! Nice thread

The first 20 weeks for me as I had Hyperemesis- last 20 weeks hasn't been too bad at all - heartburn sucks and he's really heavy and hurts now but I only have four weeks left Grin

LittleTiger007 · 03/01/2021 09:15

@Gkeshs3under3

Mentally- first 20weeks Physically- last 20weeks
I can see this being so. Yippee

First 20 for me as it’s just a long boring waiting game. Things can still go wrong and nothing they can do. Barely feel any movement. Doesn’t feel that “real”. Last 10 weeks physically are really hard energy wise/ general moving wise with big bump pressing on your pelvis but it’s exciting too. Can’t wait to get to 20+!

LittleTiger007 · 03/01/2021 09:17

@Worriedandabitscared good luck for the last few weeks! Not long to go now!

Oh the first 20! Sickness, tiredness, gas - it was just awful.

The last few weeks were tough in terms of walking etc but the first 20 were the worst by far.

RuthW · 03/01/2021 09:26

The first 20 we're definitely the worst with feeling sick. The last 17 were simple. I felt great all the time.

FlyNow · 03/01/2021 09:26

Both were equal worst for me, sorry!

LittleTiger007 · 06/01/2021 12:48

My word... I thought the second trimester was supposed to be the best! Yesterday I threw up my reflux got so bad and today I have a new symptom! ‘Lightening crotch’ or ‘fanny daggers’ .... how did no one tell me about this! 😒🤣😬 (21 weeks tomorrow)

Last 20 for me were hellish. I had lots of swelling, kept getting checked for pre-eclampsia but it was within limits. My hands were so swollen I couldn't make a fist and my feet looked like something out of the Klump's. I also had pgp with my dd and wanted dh to saw my hips off the pain was that bad. In my last two pregnancies I was rarely sick just nauseous so the first 20 weeks were not bad.
