Is it constipation?

Morning ladies

Happy new year to you all x

So a little strange one. I’m 13+2 and the last few days I’ve had quite uncomfortable pains. I’ve put it down to constipation (passed a couple of rabbit droppings TMI I do apologise). But it’s been a few days and now I’m wondering could it be growing pains?

Due to sickness and nausea my diet is all over the place so I’m defo not eating the right things. Has anyone experienced this?xx

Yes I've had the same, very uncomfortable pains, ate some fruit and it got things moving, soon as I went to toilet it's like the relief was so good 🤣 I would deffo say you're constipated

@rbetty haha I can imagine the relief!

I need to force some fruit down me. Just the thought of it makes me want to be sick! 😂

OP I am also 13+2 today and have been having pains for the past hour or two. I am worrying a bit but i do have wind and constipation and it does feel like it could be that or perhaps a UTI.

I am going to see how it goes in the next hour or so and maybe call 111 if it continues in case it is a UTI. Not sure if midwives are working today as usual?

I have just looked up some old Mumsnet posts on this abs lots of people were reporting pains at 13 weeks and many saying it's likely to be growing pains

@AliceinBunniland that’s the problem you never know when to be worried or not! Mine isn’t consistent but I think it’s either constipation or growing pains. I think the only pains you should worry about it sharp pains but period type pains are supposed to be normal.

I think a midwife will be on call BUT they seem to always refer you back to the doctor as they don’t see you as a priority before 16 weeks which is annoying xx

I had a similar thing at 13/14 weeks with dd2 it's a really weird feeling...
If you can't face fruit to check which it is I can recommend Tesco value/miss Molly midget gems... Half a dozen should ease things and do the trick, but don't have more than a handful at once unless you are at home, lol.

I think even sharp pains can be normal if they don't last eg round ligament pain but tends to last a few seconds. I have read some cramping is normal. It's not getting any worse so I'm hoping it will pass🤞

And I am still constipated so it could be that...

Is your pain quite low down? Mine is and it comes and goes x

Pains are normal with constipation in pregnancy. You could try taking some lactulose for a few days to see if that helps.
