Mucus Plug at 29 weeks??

Hi, sorry if this grosses anyone out but I thought I'd just come on here before panicking and calling triage.

Yesterday I had some odd discharge that was very thick, clear, and jelly like. It had streaks of white in it and felt very much like snot (sorry).

Im 29 weeks pregnant today and worried it's my plug. As it's my first baby I don't really know what I'm looking for. Today I have felt very 'wet' down there. It just feels like I have more discharge than usual and have had to change my liner which I never have to do. I've panicked thinking its my waters. I haven't had any contractions but when I woke up I did feel like my stomach was more round and hard and baby has been moving a lot more today.

What do you think? Should I call the midwife?

I lost my plug at 32 weeks. I called the MDAU and they said not to worry as you can loose it and it grows back again. It can be a sign of labour about to start (as mine was) but it can also mean nothing. If it puts your mind at rest give the midwife a call, it might be worth letting her know in case she has any advice, but I was told not to panic as it was relatively common

Plug isn't clear. It's more yellow like disgusting old snot. Clear is likely to just be increased discharge (which is very normal in pregnancy).

But if you're worried, give triage a ring!!! That's what they're there for!!!

I lost mine at 24 weeks. I rang triage as I too felt more wet and was worried. They asked me to come in just to get safe and reassure me, did some observations/tests, kept me in for 24 hrs as was a slight concern about my cervix, but all was well so they sent me home. Baby born as planned at 38 weeks.

Always call if you’re concerned.

Thanks all. Spoke to midwife and she said unless I have pains or tightenings not to worry and keep an eye on it!

Your plug can go several times and it regrows 😊
