Anyone pregnant with bulging discs?

Hey ladies,

I'm just curious, are there are women out there that have given vaginal birth with a bulging disc? I have 2 bulging discs in my L5/S1, I see a Chiro on a regular basis (1x a week) and see a Massage therapist twice a month just to keep me comfortable. I am currently 29 weeks pregnant and am due mid-march! Both my OB and the Anesthesiologist are confident that my bulging discs won't have any effect on the birth, but I just remember last year I hit one of the discs in my back last year and omg, it was excruciatingly painful and I literally couldn't move for about 20 minutes before it subsiding. My hips were just locked in place and it hurt.so.bad, and I am so scared of this happening from applied pressure from vaginal birth.

If you have a bulging disc, I would love to hear about your experiences! Good and bad.

Long time ago for me, though the discs are still an issue... I've got L3/4 prolapse. I went under consultant care from 20 weeks and was recommended an ELCS to avoid further trauma through pushing. While I am sure that was the best route, recovery was hard because (despite my flab and seeming lack of muscles) I do all my core work with my stomach to save my back, so when my stomach was out of use while healing, I struggled because my back is so weak, if that makes any sense.

Thanks for sharing, can I ask what an ELCS is?
