Hi there, I am 10 + 3 and tested positive yesterday with covid. At first I was just feeling unwell with typical pregnancy symptoms, sickness, achy back and then a head ache started which floored me and I was in bed for 3 days really unwell so I booked a test which came back positive. I actually feel alot better now and I haven't had any other typical covid symptoms but I am really anxious now that everything will be OK with the baby. I miscarried in September at 10 weeks so now I'm at this stage again naturally I was worried and now this on top. Anyone have the dreaded rona and in the first trimester? Xx

Hi @Gabsgills, I've tested negative for covid but am still left with an unexplained cough (no other symptoms) which is causing me anxiety, and making me feel like an absolute pariah when I go for scans etc. Thinking sensibly I don't think either of us has much reason to be worried. Covid has now been around long enough now that plenty of women who had it in the first trimester in March/April time will have gone full term and had their babies, so if it did cause any major issues these would have been picked up by now. Especially if it caused miscarriages, that would be really easy for them to identify in the statistics, and all the evidence now is that it doesn't. Most of the studies they've done show that it either doesn't cross the placenta to the baby, or if it does it's extremely rare. That being the case, the only threat to the baby would be if you became really seriously ill. It sounds like your symptoms have been pretty mild in the grand scheme of things - horrible for you though, I don't mean to minimise that.

Sorry I know you were hoping for someone who had tested positive but I didn't want to read and run!

Hi there! Thank you for replying actually you have really helped put my mind at rest! I didn't think of it like that 😊 Need to try and relax but find it so hard after miscarrying not so long ago. I do feel alot better in myself so I think once my isolation period is up I will book a private scan to put my mind further at rest! Thank you x
