Contractions?!

I had a sweep today and Was told I am already 2cm dilated which is good as tomorrow I am going in to have waters broken due to lack of fluid.

I woke up a couple of hours ago with what feels like strong menstrual cramps that are coming and going every 4-6 mins and lasting 30-40 secs. My question is if I'm already 2cm dilated before contractions begin does that mean they will start closer together like this? Or would they start more spaced out at first? FTM so not sure what to expect!

Yes sounds like contractions to me. Keep timing and call your birthing unit for advice

I have given birth tonight. I had a sweep at 9.50am lost bloody plug then had niggles all day stopped around 4pm at 9pm my waters broke I had him at 10.10pm. Everyone is different at 4pm I was pretty sure was all over and I'd wait another day or so x

@Helenknowsbest by my induction the next morning id dilated another cm so it was contractions! He arrived the day after 😊
