Period after tfmr/miscarriage

I really sadly had to have a termination for medical reasons at 21 weeks of a much wanted baby. I ovulated at about 3 weeks and have just started my period at 5 weeks 2 days. I've had all the usual crampings and symptoms but I'm on day 2 of really light spotting. I had an s&d (surgical) termination and I'm now so worried something is wrong and I have scaring or another issue. I was expecting a heavier period.
I had a scan at about 2 weeks because I had an infection, turned out to be a water infection but they checked to make sure it wasn't anything more serious. The midwife found that there was some fluid still im my uterus, she said I needed to wait to ttc again and have a period to allow that to clear or I would likely miscarry. Hence why I thought this period would be heavier.
Has anyone else had a light period and them not have an issue? Should I seek medical advice?

Sorry for your loss. Could be totally normal - I guess I’d say if you’re worried it’s always a good idea to be able to talk things through with someone. Do you have a good GP you could do a phone consult with? Also re what the midwife said - I’m not sure there’s any evidence to say there’s an increased chance of miscarrying if you conceive too soon - more likely if there’s any tissue or fluid left behind you just won’t conceive that cycle. Good to wait for a cycle anyway just to let your emotions settle though- and hopefully you have some follow up for any extra test results and for some discussion about any changes/extra plan for next pregnancy anyway? Best of luck.

Thanks TenThousandSpoons0. I spoke to a midwife this morning but thankfully a more normal period has started, which I'm really pleased about. I've never wanted a period so badly.
