FIrst pregnancy and very early still so I’m a bit clueless.

But is getting worse BO / sweat smell a thing?? I’ve noticed over the past few days my BO is terrible even with deodorant. I thought it was the top I was wearing a few days ago as I made the error of putting it on new without washing it. But wearing an old top today and i stink! DP can’t smell me unless he’s got a nose practically in armpit but I can really smell it strong. I’m paranoid about smelling as it is.. please don’t tell me I’ll be known as the smelly pregnant woman GrinConfused

I've never experienced more BO when pregnant, but maybe that's just me!

Remember your sense of smell will be through the roof and you are most likely smelling things that other people may not smell/notice.

This was one of the first signs that made me think I was pregnant... I was repulsed by the smell of my BO... It stopped after around 5 weeks. I’m almost 8 weeks now and happy to report im no longer putrid smelling. I think it’s just down to heightened smell and hormones

Heightened sense of smell is common in pregnancy. I could smell washing powder on people‘a clothes on the tube!

I had this very early on in my pregnancy thought I had something wrong with me 🙈 x

I noticed this but it went away by the end of the first trimester. I’d just wash more often and maybe change deodorants up until it goes back to normal!

I had the same experience throughout my pregnancies. I realised after a short while it’s not that I smelt of BO, but my sense of smell was incredibly heightened. Only cottoned on when all of sudden a lot people I never associated with a BO problem all of a sudden had one. So with a normal sense of smell it was undetectable, with pregnancy hormones I could smell peoples armpits from a few feet in distance. Once I had the babies, my sense of smell returned to normal pretty much straight away. It was not only BO I struggled with. I had to change our hand soaps as the smell when pregnant was overbearing. I could smell the oven cleaner residue that you would not normally be able to smell whenever the oven was in use etc. from a distance when nowhere near the kitchen.

I swear A LOT more in pregnancy and find I have to spray the underarms of t-shirts with white vinegar spray before washing them or they stink!

Ooh thanks all. Fingers crossed it dies down soon then! Going to switch deodorant to see if that helps too as the one I’m using doesn’t have scent. I feel sick with the stinkyness GrinBlush
