Okay so I'm not sure if this is pregnancy related but I have read a few things on the internet that it can be caused by pregnancy but I never had with my first.

For about 2 weeks ive been blowing my nose as I'm constantly stuffy baring in mind the heating is on as of this time of year but every time I blow my nose either bright or old blood with come out of it , not running but just what it looks like normally. I've heard this could be nasal connection or what it says on the internet " Your body is producing much more blood during pregnancy. The teeny blood vessels in your nose can swell up, dry out, and rupture, causing your nose to bleed. You may also notice that your nose is more congested than usual, which is the result of increased blood flow to the mucus membranes."

I never had this with my first pregnancy so I'm finding it pretty weird and what I can do to help it! I have my 12 week scan tomorrow so will ask the midwife then.

I just thought I'd put a post up on the off chance that someone else has had this or could maybe tell me what it could be. Sorry for being a pest

I have this - I’m 22 weeks now and I feel like I’ve been congested for weeks. Sometimes when I blow my nose, my snot (ew sorry) will have a bit of blood in it. I usually worry about everything but I’ve decided not to worry about this!

17 weeks here and experiencing this too. It's worse in the morning when I wake up I find. Totally normal. I didn't have it with any of my previous pregnancies but this one seems to be a law unto itself!
Were you pregnant at a different time of year last time?

I had this with both my babies. It drove me mad! My doctor recommended a nose spray that helped (can’t remember what it’s called so realise that’s unhelpful!)

I have this too at 15 weeks! I actually sneeze too in the morning and this morning was particularly hard and busted the blood vessels in my nose. I also find when I wake up in the middle of the night to pee I have to blow my nose, I think some women snore due to this aswell!

@ladymary86

I had him in February 2018 so April forward but I do get quite bad nasal congestion so the hormones won't be helping 😑

I have this, it's totally normal. There is a nasal salt spray you can get called Sterimar that my doctor recommended and it can help and is natural. I'm 28 weeks and kinda used to it now.

I'm the same! I'm 26 weeks and its every morning apparently its because we are carrying extra blood in our bodies! Pregnancy really isnt glam at all🤣

@Cr20 that'll be pregnancy rhinitis. I've had it from day 1, that and relentless heartburn. I'm not sure there's much that can be done, although I've found on the days I'm badly congested an Olbas Inhaler helps clear me up a bit.

I have this and did so in my first pregnancy too. For me it's really hard, bloody bogeys! They are huge, really hard to pick out and a bit smelly! Lol the joys of pregnancy!
