ds came three weeks early the day after a short hike that involved walking up a very long steep hill.... probably not reccommended!

I watched four episodes of 24 the night before dd was due. She was born 7 hours later

i mowed the lawns the week before, and he was a week early. scores points with dh too!

you cannot cannot cannot make your baby come any sooner than he / she is ready

you can try to get things going by using sex to help ripen the cervix, and nipple stim to stimulate and strenghten contractions you might have

raspberry leaf tea or tablets can tone the uterus and make labour shorter, but cannot induce it

babies come when they are ready ,but you can gently prepare your body

no-one is really sure what triggers labour, but the foetus itself has a lot to do with it

if your first was a week over, tehn you might go over again, best to think in terms of baby being later , and then if you are early or on time, then great !

Sorry PSW but why would 24 bring on Labour?

Have you seen it? It's very exciting! But no I guess it was just coincidence that the baby was ready.

tangarine · 24/10/2007 20:09

Reflexology - ds was born the next day. But I have no idea if it worked, as it was the day before his due date and ds might have arrived on time anyway.

with my dc no 1 i was walking the dog and apparently was 3 cm dilated apparently it contribute to labour only lasting 1hr 20 mins in total.

bambino1andbump · 24/10/2007 20:12

I've seen a couple but not really in to it. If you were to say Prison Break I would understand!

DS1 was 9 days late, and I'd tried everything - bumpy car rides, long walks, sex, acupressure and even copious amounts of pineapple.
When the contractions finally arrived, it was late at night after I'd eaten a massive goulash and was ready to sleep. When he arrive 24 hours later(!) and showed me how much he could cry and needed me awake not asleep, I was left wondering why on earth I'd been trying to hurry it all up!
If it's any consolation, local papers love a christmas birth...!
