Hit stomach at 17 weeks

Hi guys, so this afternoon I basically hit my stomach pretty hard on a door handle...I am 17 weeks and 3 days. I was in a bit of a rush and pulled the door handle of my bedroom, my slipper got stuck at the bottom of the door and kind of instantly bounced back and dug into my tummy, right in the middle of my belly button. It really hurt for about 5 seconds and then I felt fine, but later on, say 2 hours after I felt cramping in my lower stomach, it has gone now...and generally speaking I have been getting cramps on and off from the beginning of this pregnancy which have come and gone, but the fact that I hit my stomach and then got cramps really scared me. Do you think I hurt my baby? I googled it and read that trauma to the stomach can cause placental abruption and feel really restless now. I'm not bleeding or anything and the cramps have subsided, but I just feel really anxious Blush

Has anyone done something like this? and is there a chance I have hurt my little bean or the placenta even? Super worried Sad

If you're worried call triage, its what they are there for and they'll help put your mind at rest. 😊 I fell over onto concrete at 24 weeks, landed on my stomach and was really worried I'd hurt baba. Was checked out at triage and baba was completely fine. They're pretty well protected in there. 😊

Chances are everything is fine but it’s best to get checked so I’d call your midwife team/maternity unit. I fell arse over tit in the waiting room on my way out of my 16 week scan, they kept me in overnight for observation but everything was fine. Your baby is likely fine too but get medical advice.

Trauma generally means bat to the stomach, serious car accident etc...

The uterus doesn't reach up to your belly button until about 20 weeks.

All that said, ring your midwife team or triage for some peace of mind.

Thanks everyone...I guess I will call triage then just to be sure, and to put my mind at ease.
