Waking up with painful fingers

Hi all,
I'm 22+2 with my 2nd baby. This morning I woke up with really tight (swollen) painful fingers which hurt to move or bend them. The tightness has started to settle a little bit now but the pain is still there.
Now that it's settling a little should I be concerned at all? It still hurts to bend them and I've been up for a few hours since it started.
I woke up with a horrific headache too lol which for me isn't anything out of the ordinary. I've been having bad continuous headaches since 14 weeks which come and go and are being investigated by the GP (they didn't think pregnancy related)
I've also been having bad eye pain (eyes tested all healthy and I have no prescription change)
Head started to feel a little fuzzy this morning too and just felt a little weak all over.
Should I be overly concerned or just get on with it and wait for the pain to settle down?

I had the same thing during my first pregnancy. My fingers were the only part of me that swelled up and it caused carpal tunnel. I was advised to sleep with my hands raised, so I just made sure they were on my pillow. It helped with the pain a bit but didn't solve it.

However, your other symptoms made me think of pre-eclampsia. As you have had headaches from 14 weeks it probably isn't but better to contact your midwife just to be sure. If nothing else she might be able to give you other advice.

Perhaps to reassure you (as I don't want you to worry unnecessarily) I was on aspirin as there was a family history of pre-eclampsia and the swelling in my hands were never a concern. So it is probably nothing and just fluid retention due to pregnancy.

I’ve had the exact same thing start over the last few days. My head feels like the day after a heavy night out, and my hands feel as though I’ve been carrying heavy shopping for too long! I’m almost 34 weeks. I called my midwife and she wanted me straight in this morning to do checks of my urine, blood pressure and to check the baby’s heart rate, and then sent me off for fetal movements to be checked over at the hospital. She mentioned possible preeclampsia and carpel tunnel, but as my blood pressure and urine sample especially were okay at the moment, she will continue to monitor me again mid-week as they want to keep an eye on it. Definitely call your midwife to be checked out, I was hesitant but they all reassured me that they’d rather catch any problems sooner rather than later, and that they wouldn’t want me worrying over it x
