Would I see the 'ding a ling' in a scan??

Hi girls,
Just wondering if I'ld notice the boys bits between the legs of the baby on the 20 wk scan? Didn't want to know the sex but the sonographer showed the private area when measuring the femur and I'm convinced it's a girl now cos we didn't see 'bits'. Really just wanted a surprise.

Very unlikely you would recognise the bits. We wanted to know the sex. my sonographer froze the screen over a good shot between LOs legs. When asked what I saw. I pointed to two balls and a dangly bit. The sonographer roared. It was a girl.

I was convinced I saw a whole set of tackle when I had a very late (33 week) scan. The radiographers were ROFL. I realized why when Grace was born a few weeks later! So no, you probably wouldn't. Or possibly you might. I think you can safely say it's still a surprise!

don't look at this site if you might recognise what you saw. it is interesting though as it shows how girls' and boys' bits look on an ultrasound.

I looked. Thought I saw nothing therefore was another girl.
DS arrived 16 weeks later.

I don't think you'd necessarily be able to tell. We didn't find out either, but I kind of got it into my head that its a girl as didn't see anything (still don't know at 35 weeks!) Having said that, when they did point out other things, like mouth and nose, couldn't make them out, even when they were showing me and explaining how it all fitted together, so suspect not seeing anything is no guarantee either way.

I saw the snoope (penis) yestereday and commented to hubby and the sonographer came back to it after 2 minutes and she said yes its a boy. So after having bought the pink starter set, i have to take it back- i have been weepy all day today but not mention that iam watching jane eyre.

I really don't know how people see anything! I had scans right up until 36 weeks with the dts and I didn't see any ding a lings or penises.

that was fun, I got 9/10 right, I can't believe it! I could never tell with any of mine.

We saw it but only after we'd asked the sex the sonographer was taking ages with her measurements and then asked us if we wanted to know the sex when we said we did she said 'thank goodness for that i'll be quicker now he keeps wanting to wave his penis up to the screen and I was trying to be descreet hence taking so long' I replied that he was just like his dad and that's how we got here in the first place and dp was thoroughly embarrassed.

With ds2 it was so huge you couldn't miss it. It's still massive - I think he'll win competitions when he's older.

I didn't at the time with dd, but looking back to scan pictures she is on her side with her feet around her ears and there is deffo 3 lines.
With ds I saw it on a scan at 34 weeks, they don't tell the sex at the hospital I went to so made sure I was paying attention when they measured the femur (good bum shot)

Thanks for that! We didn't get a bum shot as such as babs was 'standing up' so we didn't see from underneath but we could see straight on, so maybe we wouldn't have seen anything straight on anyway!!

just to throw a spanner into the works, my BIL was CONVINCED that he saw a penis on the scan they had at 20w, and at 30w SIL had another scan and once again he saw baba's winkey

fast forward 11w and out pops little ruby, sans penis
