I'm normally quite a sensible one regarding food and drink advice in pregnancy, I.e I know what's a total no go and what's a 'probably fine in moderation'. But where do we stand on brandy sauce?!

I don't mean properly freshly made brandy sauce, I mean the bog standard packet type.

A quick google suggests to avoid, but that Christmas pudding is ok as the alcohol's been brunt off through cooking, and only seems to refer to fresh stuff. Does the same still apply to stuff that comes in a box?!

I think on this I'd say so long as you're not drinking a pint of it you're fine. A one off treat won't have any impact, just as a one off glass of champagne won't. No one's getting drunk off of brandy sauce, after all :)

Just looked at a recipe and for 6 people one serving contains 4 tp spoons of brandy, which is then cooked. Anything supermarket bought would need an APF % if it was really alcoholic. So enjoy!

@RMarieClaire YES!! That's the kind of info I wanted!!!
