Does anyone know anything about Shingles

Hi
I have just discovered I am 6 weeks pregnant and my dad has Shingles. I Have beed in contact with him. I have had chicken pox but i am not sure if me and my tummy are safe!!!!!!! Does anyone know anything? Would be much appreciated.

Right, bit complicated, but if you've had chicken pox you should be fine. You cannot catch shingles, shingles is a reactivation of the chicken pox virus which gets left in your system. However, you can catch chicken pox from someone who has shingles, so if you haven't had chicken pox contact your doctor who can give you a jab (not harmful) to help you stop developing it. Don't worry you won't catch it unless you have not had chicken pox and then you may get that. I had it recently when I had glandular fever, you have to be pretty run down to get it and it can only come from within as it were.
