Hi all,
I’m 6 and a half weeks pregnant and today I’m finding I’ve awful thick phlegm at the back of my throat... naturally I’m sitting her questioning if it’s pregnancy related or covid... has anyone had similar in early pregnancy?

Yes, I had this throughout my pregnancy. Think it’s fairly common. It’s called nasal drip I think.

BabyC21 · 23/12/2020 15:56

Thank you, yes I was thinking it would be pregnancy related.

I'm 11 weeks pregnant and I'm very nasaly as well. Think it's common in early pregnancy, and I get out of breath quicker than normal too, not sure if that's normal haha

I'm so glad you asked this. I am constantly clearing my throat. He thinks I'm just being dramatic, hahaha.

shelbyrae · 23/12/2020 16:21

Ugh yes I've got this. I just try and drink water when it happens.

BabyC21 · 23/12/2020 16:25

Haha @MumToBeMaz I wish it was just dramatics! Thanks everyone for confirming it’s normal 😄

Hi @BabyC21 hope you’re well. I know it’s been years since you posted this but I am having the same problem. So much thick phlegm it isn’t helping my sickness and nausea at 14 weeks. Did it get better or did you find anything that helped??

OP here - not sure how to change my username to old one 🤷🏻‍♀️ but This is so funny - I am once again 6.5 weeks pregnant and had completely forgot about this until you tagged me. Yes it was pregnancy rhinitis and it lasted until about 16 weeks on my 1st. I’ve got the same again this time I can’t remember anything particular helping last time though. Hope yours improves soon.

@Hopeful2017 thank you so much for replying! It's absolutely awful isn't it! When pregnant you are just desperate for any sort of advice but it's reassuring to know that yours improved at 16 weeks. I really hope mine will too! This is my third pregnancy and I've not experience it previously so very new symptom for me... but definitely one of the worst. Xx
