Silverette nipple cups

Has anyone used them and are they as good as everyone says?

I had real trouble breastfeeding my other kids but am determined to try again, and apparently they are miracle workers for healing sore nipples?

I’ve read a lot of reviews, they are mostly very positive, but I was wondering if anyone on here had tried them?

Thanks!

Watching with interest! I've not tried them before, but I've heard nothing but great things about them. I've just ordered some actually!

OP, on a side note, I think it's you that is due to have your 4th section? My 4th is scheduled for a week today!

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 22/12/2020 20:26

It is me! How are you feeling about it? I spoke with another lady who had her fourth recently and she said it was her easiest one, so fingers crossed for you next week that you feel the same!

Let me know how it goes, and how you get on with the silverette cups Smile

I’ve used them. Absolutely brilliant.

Somethingsnappy · 22/12/2020 21:53

@NotThatKindOfDoctor, yes I will let you know! I'm nervous, but excited to meet baby too, who is quite a wriggler! When is your due date?

ChocBeforeCock · 22/12/2020 21:54

These were an absolute Godsend for me. Pricey but worth it. Good luck!

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 23/12/2020 06:52

@WobbleTime and @ChocBeforeCock - did you use them alongside anything else (creams etc) or were they sufficient on their own? How quickly did they heal up any problems?

@Somethingsnappy I have another 10 weeks to go (which is just as well because I have nothing sorted yet - I’ve less work on in January so will pretty much baby prep month for me!) This time next week your LO will be here!

I used them on their own, stopped using lansinoh etc. I would say 24-48 hours for a noticeable improvement, took longer to heal totally but started to help very quickly x

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 24/12/2020 07:51

Thanks so much @ChocBeforeCock (excellent name by the way). I’ll definitely be taking them to the hospital with me and using from day one.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I used them on their own, no cream or anything right from the first feed (third child) having struggled with very sore cracked nipples with my first 2. They were great at healing any cracks and just seemed to work magic! They look a bit odd but I didn’t care!!

WobbleTime · 28/12/2020 13:34

You have to remember to clean them to re-activate the silver though if I remember right - with bicarbonate of soda made into a paste and rubbed on them. Think that’s right anyway - it’s a few years ago now
Hope all goes well for you!

bumpyknuckles · 28/12/2020 13:36

Yup - I used them too and they were great. Squeeze a bit of milk into them first for best results.

They do look odd tho, and vaguely kinky, but hey-ho.

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 28/12/2020 19:01

Brilliant, thanks so much everyone.

@Somethingsnappy - good luck for tomorrow, hope everything goes smoothly!

@NotThatKindOfDoctor, thank you very much! I need to be in hospital at 7:30 am. Starting to feel a bit jittery!

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 28/12/2020 21:33

I always feel jittery the night before @Somethingsnappy, last time I’m not even sure I did more than nap sporadically all night. It’s exciting that by lunch time tomorrow the op will be done and your baby will be here!

@NotThatKindOfDoctor. Hello again! Just to let you know my little boy was born on Tuesday and everything went very smoothly Smile. The section went more smoothly and quickly than the third with minimal blood loss and the pain afterwards has been easier too. I was so nervous about it but it was totally fine and a really lovely experience. The medical team were amazing too!

NWnature · 01/01/2021 22:57

Best thing I bought all pregnancy! I still wear them in my bra now and just take off whichever side to feed. Mine are senocare brand from Amazon- recommend them to everyone I know!

NotThatKindOfDoctor · 02/01/2021 04:21

Congratulations @Somethingsnappy!!! So glad everything went well. How is your son getting on? Are the other kids over the moon?

Thanks @NWnature, I’d not heard of that brand. Will check them out.
