Would ovarian cysts show on pregnancy scan?

I had my dating scan yesterday. Before I got pregnant (which was a nice surprise!) I was due to have keyhole surgery to investigate a 3cm mass near my Fallopian tube but it was cancelled due to the pregnancy, it's not likely it would go away on it's own as it's thought to possibly be solid (or a blood clot, they don't know). I haven't had any scans for it since August which were private. I was referred to nhs obstetrician who said she will not see me until after my dating scan. During the scan nothing was mentioned, it was very quick. I've seen other people say they have had cysts discovered during the dating scan, I'm still having pain from the mass (have told midwife/gp etc)
What was the purpose of waiting for the scan?! Does anyone have any similar experience, were you given extra monitoring? I've booked private mri for next month.

I have PCOS and during all my scans under Ovaries there's a note that says 'polycystic' so they definitely do show. But if there's a specific mass they might not have looked there? Can you ask the surgery if anything was observed?

I had ovarian cysts left over from my IVF cycles which were picked up on during my early scans. I specifically asked for them to be measured each time so I could monitor their growth. I did have to specifically ask for this each time because I knew they were there.

My dermoid cyst was picked up on an early pregnancy scan. But it was causing me pain too.

My ovaries have been seen as enlarged on a 12 week scan (mild ohss after ivf cycle) and then not seen at all on a 9+6 scan for a different pregnancy (but the assume I still have them?). Sometimes they're easier to see than other times, but ask!!

Thanks all for the replies! I already had my dating scan and I didn't mention the cyst I was too anxious and flustered. The scan literally lasted about 3 minutes then I was out again, it's on my notes about the cyst anyway so I assumed they read my notes x
