Measuring 5w3 at 6w2

I had a scan today, it was external and I was expecting to be 6w2 but was measuring 5w3. The sonographer thinks she saw a heartbeat which is reassuring and asked me if I was sure on my dates. I got a faint BFP on 4/12 but going by these new dates I would have been way too early to test positive.

I know scans aren’t massively accurate at this stage but I’m just a bit worried that the embryo isn’t growing as it should and won’t stick? Just wondering if anyone has similar stories and the dates were back on track at the 12 week scan?

Totally normal, really common to be put back a week when it's super early. That's why really early scans aren't recommended as it's hard to get accurate measurements.

At about 6 1/2 weeks I had a scan at EPU and was measuring 5 1/2, I was really worried but it caught up again by 12 weeks and now I'm 21 weeks tomorrow.

Easier said than done but try not to worry it is v common xx

Hi, just regarding your dates. I’m 6 and 3 today and started getting positives on 29th November. So if you got a BFP 5 day’s later then it would put you at around 5 and 4, which seems to be what your measuring.
My dates are exact as I had fertility treatment :)

Thank you, Ive booked a scan for next month when I should be 9/10 weeks for reassurance so I’m just going to try and not worry about it until then. Hopefully everything will go well in the meantime!
