Remote midwife appointment?

Hello!

I don't know if this is the correct place to ask, but I was wondering if anyone had any experience with remote NHS midwives appointments? Especially the very first one!

I'm 7 weeks along and have my first appointment on the 28, it'll be my first time meeting my midwife but it'll be through Zoom or something similar. I don't know what to expect! I read about people getting their blood and wee tested, being weighed and having their blood pressure taken too. Obviously I won't be able to do any of this so part of me wonders what's the point of the appointment at all!

Anyway, thank you for reading and sorry if this wasn't the correct place!

The first appointment is just a lot of form filling out so that’ll be what happens over the zoom call. When you go for your first scan, you’ll then be weighed/blood taken etc (or at least that is still happening at my Trust)

I had my first appointment over the phone to answer all questions which are normally a form filling exercise at the appointments. Medical history, family history, past pregnancies etc. The appointment takes about an hour. I then was given an appointment the same week to go for blood tests, weight, and urine sample. Then they booked me in for a scan a few weeks later.
