29 weeks pregnant - Raised ALT?

Hi all
I am 29 weeks pregnant with my 2nd and I recently had a scan (under consultant care so having additional scans) and all ok with baby but whilst there I had quite high blood pressure (it’s fine normally) so they kept testing and it went down a little bit they wanted to do blood tests. They came back as showing a slightly raised ALT. I have had to have more bloods taken today so am waiting for results. Has anyone had experience of this? Should I be really worried? I feel fine in myself, baby is growing well and lots of movements. I read it was something to do with liver but midwife was unable to give much info.
Many thanks x

Hi - did they also do a bile acid test?

Did they mention obstetric Cholestasis? Are you itchy? I had this between 34-36 weeks with the twins, it was horrendous. I was scratching my legs and feet raw and sleeping with wine chillers wrapped around my ankles. They induced me at 36+6 as the numbers had shot up. Babies and I were absolutely fine.

I had raised ALT that was thought to be caused by pre-eclampsia. Other than the raised BP, proteinuria and bloods, I was symptomless, and baby and I were completely fine.

Try not to worry. If it is something, it's been picked up early, and they can treat and monitor you accordingly.

Hope your results came back ok.

@KinderWild hiya, I’m not sure what they will be testing. they took 4 tubes of blood which seemed like a lot but the midwife did say they would be doing a full screening around now anyway?
@isurvived3under2 hi, no more itchy than usual! I remember with my dd my legs got really itchy constantly towards the end of pregnancy I wonder if that was related but never picked up last time?
@Dyra hi, that seems to sound similar to me, though last time I went to midwife on Friday my blood pressure had returned to the he normal range which was good. I did have a plus 1 for protein I think she said this Friday but again never had that before.... though I was extremely dehydrated I think after a day rushing around and not really having much to drink so we will see!
Thank you for your replies, I’m trying not to get too worried about it, the midwife said it can be nothing but they like to monitor... the trouble starts when I start asking dr google who always has the worst case scenario! Xx
