What type dis you get? Would it be better if it is a rocking chair or would a normal armchair do? I have space to put one in my bedroom.

I had an emergency c section and was glad I had bought a nursing chair with arms, because I needed them to help me stand up. It was the Ikea Strandmon with footstool. Now we use it as a reading chair, there’s room for parent and small child to sit on the chair together.

I wasn't bothered about getting a chair but our friends offered to give us their one and I love it. It's a rocking chair with a rocking footstool and I use it every night for the bedtime feed. I also use it in the night for night feeds and keep a blanket on it for if I get cold. I would recommend getting one now. I think the rocking feature helps as I don't have to pace the room if my DD wants to be rocked.

I got a (repro, £50) Eames rocking chair. Was designed as a nursing chair. Comfy arm support for bf and getting up, stylish, and wipe clean. Quite small though so might be less good if you are very tall.

We have been gifted a rocking nursing chair with footstool that rocks in unison. Baby hasn't arrived yet but I love the chair! So comfy, also supportive and upright so much easier to get out of than the sofa. Also much better back support.
