Is anyone getting cards made? and if so, any recommendations of where to go. Out of interest, anyone going to put it in the newspaper?

blimey I haven't even thought about it MrsMc!!

and I think I'm due round about same time as you, you really seem a lot more organised than me.

Thinking now though - def won't bother with paper, not sure who would care that read it as my friends and family would know. As for cards, well, I run a contemporary greeting card company so guess it would be foolish not to make use of this - my dp is craetive dirsector so having something special designed would be lovely, but with the amount of work/housemoving/building we have going on in the run up to B-DAY I can't see that happening...may just have to plunder my warehouse!!

I'm going to shout it from the roof tops lol.

I had a look on ebay yesterday and they have some nice cards, some of them are handmade so will probably go for something like that.

I would like to get ones that match the thank you cards aswell.

Saying that with a new born you - it might just be a text message lol

MrsMcSpooky · 23/10/2007 16:46

Chunkypudding some friends have sent them and others haven?t and I have to say, I do keep the ones I receive sentimental old fool. Ahhh so you run a company are you going to tell us how to look at your designs? Pretty please

Bumptobaby will have to look on ebay. That?s a nice idea about the thank yous. The lady who made my wedding invitations had some gorgeous designs for baby announcements but the wedding ones were such a stress in the end that there is no way I?d use her again

hey Mrs M...

We don't do specific Baby Announcement cards and we don't show all of our stuff online (though we will have a little online shop of goodies soon...)

but our website is quite nice to look at especially if you are in the same situation as me right now (ie still at work but finding that brain has gone home and is lying on sofa with a magazine )

web address is here

and when are you due? pretty sure its close to my due date (3rd jan)

am quite scared and very disorganised. You? x

chunkypudding · 23/10/2007 16:56

oh and dp is creative director, not dirsector

MrsMcSpooky · 23/10/2007 17:07

Started to have a look but then it stated making noises so I?ll have a look at home instead I certainly know what you mean about the brain situation!!

I?m due 15/1 but babies in my family tend to come 3-4 weeks early (watch me buck the trend!) so I am wary of that too. I am quite scared too ? it?s the fear of the unknown really, the AN classes start so late and the labour ward (torture chamber) is still so elusive. I am starting to get my hospital bag together now and we have ordered a buggy but we still have quite a lot to do and get and the decisions get exhausting don?t they?

Mrs and Mrs blank are pround to announce the birth of baby blank. Please do visit us at anytime but don't knock on the door, just post the cards/cash/vouchers through the door and come back in 6 months when we will be happy to recieve your baby sitting services. Tee Hee

When DS1 and DS2 were born, we got personalised cards out of a vending machine! We posted out DS1's, and send DS2's with Christmas cards.

I'm not sure we told anyone about DD1, until we invited them to her baptism at 10months.

DD2 and DD3, we just left it up to both GMs to spread the news!

I just made my own with MS Publisher.
