Hope for age 40 ttc

Hi all, miscarried in May, but all the online stuff just makes me feel so negative about being 40 and fertility I've been ttc for nearly 4 months and I just need some positives thanks you

I used Taking Control of Your Fertility book. Was so helpful.

My mum had me in her mid-40s. Her cousin had a child at 46 - 28 years after her first child and 24 years after her last. I had DS1 at 35, Dd at 38 and DS2 at 40.

Was you ovulating on your own?
I'm ovulating on my own, but thinking of trying clomid, now month 11 ttc

Hi, based on using ovulation tests I was ovulating but not getting pregnant. I didn’t have blood tests to confirm.

My gynae prescribed a drug called letrozole - she said it was a new therapy that she had had success with for other older couples.

I used it twice and twice got pregnant. Unfortunately the first didn’t make it.

It works by boosting the hormones needed for ovulation. My doctor said it didn’t increase the risk of multiples but scarily when I had an early scan she could see 2 ‘unused eggs’.
